Windowblinds is not loading a skin when my system boots or restarts. I have to apply manually after it up. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate. Any Ideas?  Rad

Quoting Soasi,

Very odd. Problem persists:

Did a drive image restore

Reinstalled WindowBlinds

Applied permissions in ESET

Rebooted

Applied Alluminate theme (no change on start menu)

Rebooted (no change on start menu)

Could it be a permissions problem somewhere?

Also, though doubt it matters, but I do have C:\User and C:\ProgramData directed to another drive.

(I did do a drive image restore on each of the drives)

Did it change anything else?

Redirecting locations could be upsetting things.

Thanks StarDock Team for the continued development and the recent final release for WindowBlinds!

Just an update...

I tried several various options with no change. Finally bit the bullet and tested with doing a drive image restore to my original Windows8 install. Moved the C:\User and C:\ProgramData files to secondary drive and reinstalled WindowBlinds 7.96b.

Everything has worked fine after that. So I just kept going doing a full reinstall of my system.

Have installed updates as they have been released and have not had a re-occurance of the issues I previously experienced.

All is good.

I have a problem with the Windows Photo Viewer as most of its buttons are replaced with a white/silver texture when hovering over it.

On Windows 7 64-bit and happens on every skin except default windows. Am I the only one facing this issue?

Which version of WB does it show in the about box in the WB configuration window?

I quickly checked here and could not reproduce this problem.

here's another one, Neil. the taskbar is white instead of the grey it should be after rebooting or turning on the rig in the morning.

There is an annoying issue with the WB8 config window. If I have clicked on a preview in the left window then use the scroll wheel on my trackball, the window scrolls one row at a time. However, if I click outside this window then hover over the left window, the scroll wheel scrolls some 5 rows at a time.

I don't know whether this is intentional, but I find it distracting.

Are you using some software that gives focus on a window without selecting the application?

Titlebar text should be working just fine.

Could you be specific about a skin that you are having issues with?

All of them Neil, every skin.  The text on the UIS2 titlebars (captions) is gone.  If I load Aero it reappears.

Per Pixel titlebars and frames are fine, it is just the UIS2 stuff.

Guys, it seems there is a problem between Windowblinds 8 and DisplayFusion on both Windows 7 and 8.

I have gotten updates from both apps recently, so I'm not sure which is the problem.

I installed the new WB 8 and all is well until I reboot. Upon reboot, the secondary taskbars aren't skinned, they're almost invisible. Translucent. Only a reinstall of WB 8 fixes it, until a reboot. Then again, no skinning taskbars.

Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8 Pro 64 bit.

4 monitors. Two gfx cards. 16 GB ram. 6 core CPU. AMD.

Ok, I reverted to the last non beta of Display Fusion and it's still broken. WB8 and DisplayFusion worked fine together with the last Beta of WB8.

If anything is needed of me, let me know. I will shortly revert to the last beta of WB8,I can't deal with funky taskbars for long...lol.  o_O

Ok, WB 8 (7.98) back on my rig and problem solved.

Yay!!!  Taskbars!

This occurs when I click on the WB config dialog, but outside of the left window for example the substyle drop down control.

The last two betas released were usable in trial mode too.

Are you using a local account or a Windows Live account to login and is your machine set to autologin?

neil, i didn't know previous builds were available for trial so i hadn't installed them. sorry. my login is set to auto and my account is [email protected] which is also my microsoft account login addy that i use for technet.

i'm sure you will squash what few bugs there are. when you do, i will renew my ODNT sub.
