Thanks for the update, Neil. My WB8 is now perfect on Windows7

Spoke too soon:

Window frames aren't tiling like they should.

This is how it looked on WB7:

The top and bottom parts of the window frames are both 2 layers. First layer is the gold "grill" tiled. Second is the gray stretched. Looks like WB is stretching both layers. 

With latest beta no matter what i try i get error when i try to apply themes (any theme) on windows 8 x64. I have tried uninstall and reinstall (let it reboot and all) yet still no go.

Works fine on my Windows 7 x64 machine tho... so odd one.

What antivirus / anti malware software do you use?

Eset endpoint security with the HIPS rule applied as per the installer. Same config as on win7 machine which makes this even more odd... will check and make sure hips rule stuck.

Edit: It seems the rule didn't stick before.. works great now

Fyi.. the themes added in latest release are cool.

since the last update (WB 7.98) toolbar for on-screen keybord don't work.

SKS : i have a problem with the horizontal drag bars i pixel always gets left out

Edit: Solved reloaded the image and reset the margin to the same value and its working. kinda odd

When in WB Config, I hit edit with skin studio and it launches the site for me to download SKS,  I can launch and run SKS manually.

It looks like it is caused by something in the skin.

The top bar has margins which mean there is no middle.  WB will look at the skin on load and spot that there is no middle so based on the size the most efficient thing to do would be a stretch.  However the painting code for frames ignores the top / bottom margins for top / bottom borders and so the middle now becomes what you defined as the top.

Remove the incorrect margin and it should be ok.

Future WB builds will also detect this case and go with what the skin set.

Which OS, what do you mean by doesn't work?  Is it a visual issue in which case could we have a screenshot?

I didn't quite get what you meant, but tweaking the margins did the trick. Guess I'll have to update the skin.

Boboxi the onscreen keyboard works fine for me. Win 8 64bit.

Does it happen with all blinds?

Are you accessing the keyboard properly? AKA, Rightclick Taskbar, Toolbars, Touch Keyboard. That puts the keyboard icon on your taskbar. Left click the icon and the keyboard should work.

i can put icon on my taskbar, but can not launch keybord with left click. it hapen with all blinds i have tried. but i can launch touch keyboard from control panel. i'm not sure if this is caused WB update or something else.

Also, could you please put the menu text margins (right click menus) that were messed with back to the settings they were at before WB8? You totally destroyed the look and feel of some skins when you did that. Thank you.

The Eset rule failed to set thus causing HIPS issue so that one is solved but id id stumble on another issue... on same machine when i scroll with my thinkpads ultranav (eraser tip scroll) the config app crashes freezing mouse until process terminates.

Not sure how to capture that tho?

Has this problem been posted? This happens to the system tray every time windows is restarted.

If I changed to a different theme, the systray behaves how it should be, but when windows is restarted, that happens.

OS: Win8 x64

The "Shut down" text is visible(it's not supposed to be) in start8 and the right-click menu is often hidden behind taskbar, I'm using Mechos skin.

Does it do it on all skins or just one or two JCR2323?  If it is just on one or two, it is probably incorrect text margins that have been set in the skin. Have seen this happen before on some skins.

Can I make a recommendation? If you are going to have Windows 7 skins work in Windows 8, then they must look exactly the same in Windows 8 as they do in Windows 7. The only exceptions to this should be those areas in Windows 8 that are not skinnable at all.  If you cannot do this then you need to make SKS8 sub-style capable as SKS7 was for XP/Vista/Win7, and have WB8 apply the appropriate 7/8 OS sub-style like WB7 did.

Just my opinion.
