What skin are you getting on a login?

At the moment we are unable to reproduce this on the machines we have tested on.  We will continue to try to reproduce it.
(If anyone else in this thread can do so, please let us know so we can find  out anything in common.)

UPDATE: I did some more research on this Neil as far as the text color on the expanded start menu (right side). On some skins it is fine, but on some it is an incorrect color no matter what. So I checked the code and I cannot seem to notice any difference in the code between a skin that is having the issue and one that is not. For instance, the Sublime skin is fine, but Sandera7 (should be white text and isn't) has an issue. Altero is fine, but Altosa is not. Chronos, Captivate and iOS have the issue, as well as many other skins. Don't know what to do on this one, so hope you guys can figure it out. Thanks.

Ok, I may need to apologize! I changed skins and rebooted and now it's working fine! I was using "Windows Aero" and today I changed it to "Revolver" and rebooted just to see and it worked fine sooooo...I dunno but sorry for any trouble I may have caused.  Rad

Just so we're clear;

Brightside windowblind with color applied by skin. 

Opening Window Color and Appearance app

Note I've selected black and the apply button is functional.

Apply button has been clicked and is now greyed out, but color has not changed. Previously at this point, it would.

But now after logging out and back in it has been applied.

I don't think I can make it any clearer.

I mentioned the background color bug in an e-mail I sent to support. I have a ticket going because WB8 tends to crash when you close the configuration window, I just got an e-mail back saying that they have escalate the background color issue to the Dev team.

I have an issue with Explorer windows on secondary monitors, this doesn't happen on the primary monitor.  Yeah, I know... weird.

Anyways, when you maximize an Explorer window on a secondary monitor the window's title bar, toolbar, and a lot of other things about the window gets completely mangled.  Also, the minimize, restore, and exit controls don't work either.

I am a Windows Blinds 7 customer as well as a SkinStudio 7 Customer. How since you updated all our downloads in our My Downloads section to SkinStudio 8 can we get back out purchased SkinStudio 7 that works with Windows Blinds 7?

SkinStudio 7 will not run on Windows 8.  Sorry.

I think he's asking, as a Win 7/WB7 user, how to redownload SKS 7. Obviously, archiving it would have been the prudent thing to do, (which I have done) since it is no longer in our ODNT accounts.

Will SKS 8 work on on Windows 7 and with WB7?

I know that sks8 and wb8 work fine on windows7. Don't believe you can mix them.

I realize this is the beta issue thread for Windowblinds 8, but its the only one I can find that references the same problem LightStar reported where UIS2 titlebar text won't display.  Is this a known issue with Windowblinds 8 and is a fix in the works?  I have been using Windowblinds for about 10 years now and have a TON of UIS2 skins!!  If I can't use them anymore, I'll have psychological issues.  

Creating a skin, authors have to apply a skin too many times to see the changes they have made.. unfortunately this is not possible with Windowblinds 8 and Windows 8, I can apply only once the skin and does nothing if I want to apply the same skin  again  or any other skin...

The only solution I have found is to restart every time to be able to see the changes I have made, after a restart it works fine but for one skin only and this is very annoying and time consuming... I wonder if there is a solution for this issue.

Hmmmm, not doing that at all here on Windows 8 Nikos, it's working just fine. Might need to contact support on this one.

The things became so complicated dear friend Tom, so many operating systems, configurations, conflicts, incompatibilities… most of the times no one can find the reason of a problem… this is the real issue now days for a programmer, skinner or a user! 

Hello Nikos. May be something else as I can work all day using win8 and SKS with no problem as Tom said. Don't have an answer for you but yes these computers at times can act as they wish.

That's right Dave, I only hope that someone may have some good idea about my issue... 

I hope someone has a solution for you. I can't imagine making changes in SKS than hit apply and not see them. Hopefully you have win7 to use and do the work on there and than check it on win8 and make any small changes necessary.

Don't know Niko's. I use it on win7 and 8 with no problems. Now and than a WB my not load correctly so I just apply again. Saying that this has been this way forever and I assume it's not really a WB thing.

For information. When I installed the new windowblinds and SKS I did uninstall the older versions. Some do this and some install over the older version. Also you want to install WB8 before you install SKS8. Some have had problems installing it the other way so I went with what was recommended to me.

i have tried windowsblinds 8.0 and the newer version on windows 8.1 neither is working correctly when using start 8 or similar and clicking the start button you are uanble to see anything but a black start menu only on the default theme which is win 8 theme. carnt seem to get it working correctly any ideas tried on 2 different machines both same effect even reinstalled and tried again  its only when you click the start button and see the list only default theme allows you to see anything there you cannot see the wallpapers either just the windows 8.1 default ones

That is not normal.

What version of Start8 are you using?

We use the two together all the time and in fact I was testing those two together on Windows 8.1 only this afternoon.
