I'm thinking of having a final tournament that I will participate in. I never had the tourney I wanted to even though I've hosted several.  It's time for that to change. 

The goal of the tournament is to crown the absolute best player(s) out there EVER.  I will be attempting to bring back some all stars.  The tournament will be invitation only (more on this in a bit).  There will be no set teams.  Everyone will play with everyone.  The winner(s) will be decided based on cumulative score per game - eg a win will be 2 points - a loss 1 point.  The majority (if not all) of the prize money will come from everyone playing in the tournament.  Eg, if you want to play and think you are the best, you will pay to enter.  You don't pay, you don't play. We will all put our money where our mouth is. 

I will set the tiers on entrants.  For instance, anyone that I consider a contender for the number 1 spot will pay $20 to enter (note - any $$$ amount I mention is subject to change - just some quick thoughts).  If I think its close but not likely, $10.  And if I think no chance in hell, $5.  After we get a list of folks wanting to participate, I will clarify where I think folks fall.  If I think you are crap, well good news if you are not.  If there is a tie for the #1 slot after the tourney is over, we will have some sort of competition to determine the true winner.  I will pony up a bonus prize that will be reasonably generous.  The number 1-3 slots will receive a payout of some sort.  All entrance fees will be collected before the tourney.  I expect this will be a 2v2 tourney. 

And last - this tournament will happen in a timely order.  People not showing up when expected will be disqualified.  We will not be exceedingly gracious.  All matches will be scheduled in as convenient a time frame as possible.  I will be the final judge unless I am involved in the game. In that case, we will fall to another (undecided at this point) judge.

So, there are the basic premises. If you are interested, please respond here.  If you know folks that you consider excellent players still playing or if you have contact with them outside of Demigod (and they aren't currently playing), please give them an invite.

edit - we very well might have different rules for folks that based on my estimation of skill. re: my $20, $10, $5 entrance fees... perhaps the $20 folks will not be able to use the same character more than 2 times... the the $10 folks not more than 4 times... and the $5 folks have no restrictions.  Anyway - last random thought.  That idea might be crap...

this is the trouble with most awesome players...they expect you to be there with a shield/heal otherwise they die.... if it's 007_shield you talking about.... He is awesome when u know he will shield, and when he won't, THEN you've got the master team. He will shield for kill. He will shield to take down tower. He will shield to live. We won't shield me because I extended too far.

This is just the excuse they make when they Do die. :)

I used to be a dick with QoT by shielding, and then failing to shield to make teamates die so I would get more favor points. :D

Like my FRIEND Userban Who was UB with j-treads fighting 1v3 while I was on other side of map as a barge arse ROOK. Yeah, so I didn't have a tele to save him, but who put themselves there in the first place huh? Pacov knows the game this was just after I told you that you could not have back the health.... I think you'd agree we were on the better chance of win at that stage, and with holding health and tearing down all centre towers to your citadel all we had to do was play safe.... But banned had to decide mid-game we were going for kills and I could magically turn my tanky rook into a DA.  It's okay I take the blame for the loss after that because my rythm was all busted up getting ordered to various places in the map which I just don't do as rook.

I think there's a dynamics in the game not yet talked about much. Some players are just crap together no matter how good they are. I am crap with userbanned on my team. He's still good, sure, but playing with some players brings out the absolute worst in me. We just don't sync and then one of us d/c's

ok - quickly progressing this... here is my official small tourney invite list.  I'll add to this after some amt of time, but this is the super magic tourney (eg not the 2nd tourney) where we mix up teams so that all play with all.

9 players will be the absolute max.  And again, I will organize a 2nd tourney, but a super exclusive tourney will happen first.  cow will be extended an invite if he indicates he'd play

Random feedback from sleepy pacov.  My desire to create the uber tournament is pretty low, sadly.  My game play of the last 2 weeks is probably something like 5% Demigod, 70% SWTOR, and 25% LoL pugging on an alt account for smeh games. In short, nothing extremely competitive.  If I get motivated, I'll pursue this again... I've been thinking about it and now I'm thinking micro tournaments with like $1 entry fees and a $20 prize or some nonsense.  Anyway, I think you folks have known me to act fairly quickly in the past - just wanted to share some of my thoughts over the last few days to clue you into to my current brain blahblah.  I think we are all aware of the problems with past tourney (the biggest being getting folks together at the same time).  Anyway, bleh.

We joined YOUR lobby and you and your bum buddy "PRO" you had on your team refused to ready. Too scared to play us for your precious stat... ooooh don't let lukas and his bro smash the pros you'll look like noobs. So after waiting for too long we left and oo7 hosted a game.

You then joined oo7's lobby and you would not ready for over 2 minutes. You had Kev on your team and you still would not ready. You specified we couldn't use rook because you thought you couldn't defend your towers. So we said OK then asked u to ready.  You still would not ready. Kevinabcd asked you to ready. You would not ready.  Then the host (not me) opened a slot and we waited another few minutes. Another player joined and my bro told you clearly last to ready will be kicked. The player who joined clicked ready after about 10 seconds you did not ready. oo7 said sorry nnils and you got kicked.

So, you elitist pompus "PRO". Before you join a lobby... don't bloody join it if you do not want to play. There was no reason not to ready. Both my teams stats were far below your 'elite' team stats.  What was your problem? You must have intentionally wasted our time just so you could be kicked with many warnings, so you could come here and flame.

The 'noob' that came was not a noob, but a 2nd account. And after beating Kevin for the 3rd time in a row I conceded the win to him as promised if his teammate was not to his liking. Who's the stacker now ya bloody noob. Fair dinkum.

 

You know, and I know we were going to beat you fair and square. And YOU were shaking like a mouse at the thought off the lukas-oo7 combo that you knew was impossible to break. SLAM BLAM ZAP. I scared the "Pro". I guess you'll never get to prove that without your uber-uber-uber tournament. Bleh.

For all interested, go ahead and flame. I am a brat as pacov has said, but that is my sense of humor. It may seem cocky and it is, but that's just making fun. I'm kidding around and will not stoop to racist or highly abusive language.

I am happy to play vs anyone who considers themselves better than me. nnils I never kicked you, you kicked yourself and I would be happy to vs you sometime and have my arse handed to me indeed.
