Welcome to the 2nd Demigod Community Tournament Scheduling Thread

Please use this thread to schedule your matches. Remember, all teams are responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches!

There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled.  It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums.  For instance, if I wanted to get a game going against AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:

Atma + Ba:  trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST.  Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works.  I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent. 

Something like that.  If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

And remember, you can use this thread, use pm's on the forums, use the lagwars vent, whatever method you want to get your games going.

 

 

So, all of that said, I'd like to kick things off and start checking in on folks availability for Saturday (10/16).  Ideally, I'd like to get as many people on at the same time on 10/16 and just get some games going to kick the tournament off.

I would hardly call those games a whupping lol - they were very challenging, especially the second one (i thought you guys were going to take it when you all were pushing the mid at one time)

I'll check with my team, hopefully we can be available at that time.

Not a problem pacov. However, I am a bit hesitant to play jongalt, then you, then mcshane, then 4nana, then Zen_God. If we start 0-15, I'm not sure trouser is going to stay interested. <_<

 

Seriously, since we only had one practice game, I was hoping that we could find some Tier 2 games to get our mojo going, so that we at least have a chance of stealing a game here and there from the Tier 1 teams.

OK - so my team can't play today (unless cow ends up free, which doesn't sound terribly likely).  Maybe we can set something up for tomorrow night, Baddaddy?  We really need to get 3 more games in asap.  And baddaddy, I get what you are saying, but you might very well find that those are the only teams you'll be able to play period... I'm hoping people go nuts this weekend to get some games in so we don't have to dq too many folks. 

If I get some DG in tonight, I'll be happy to join the team opposite you guys and pick up some pugs (hopefully not tier 1 folks, but whoever is around, of course), to help you guys get some more games in as a team. 

side note - any chance that those of you teams with > 6 games in could maybe, as a wee courtesy to those of us struggling to get our first 6 games in to avoid dq, play folks before you knock out your 20th game? Its getting quite annoying to try to get a game in every night and whenever I get my team together, have no one to fight against... ad nauseum.  Would be a nice friendly gesture to oh, let us play a team at some point now that a few of you have knocked out your 6 game requirement.

What people don't realize is, that this tournament gives them the chance to get a lot of games in with a set team. Usually you wait forever in the lobby and people will call you out as a premade, and it is most unlikely that you're able to play with your friends like in the tournament.

Those teams that want to fortify the tournament after one or two losses are not different from those people in the lobby that cry out for balance and no premades.

Also remember:

  • Participation raffle - 1 player from a team that has completed all of their games in the tournament will be entered into a random drawing after the tournament ends.  That player will receive a prize of $30 as incentive for finishing the tournament.  This money will be taken from the total cash pot before any other money is distributed by percentage.  Any player that has won a cash prize is NOT eligible for the participation raffle.

But there is the demoralization aspect as well - hitting up 6+ straight losses will most likely result in the dissolution of the team.

The problem is that there are a lot of unresponsive teams out there.

Will be on Friday ready to roll.   B-Daddy playing us or Pacov?  Do we really need to bunch up our panties over the 6 game a week requirement now that over half the teams in the tourney have gone unresponsive?  Do we even need to continue with this round robin or should we just have McOrcenz, Paccor Cow, iamZenrandor, and Jon-elawwr play a little four game mini-tourney to see who the best is?

I can be on from around 8:30 EST - 12:30am so depending on my teams availability we might be able to get a couple of games in with another team as well.

We should be on tomorrow night.  Orcun's had a weird sleep schedule going lately though and the earlier the better for Renz because he's like 6 hours ahead of us so he has been staying up pretty late and has school starting soon so can't keep the late hours up for long.

Ya I should be on tomorrow as well.  My sleep schedule was all wonky but I just woke up a little before 5 a.m. so I should be g2g until like 10 p.m.
