k, so the concept was to get as far away from the last theme I did as possible and still be able to skin Win 7 completely and correctly.

 

I also wanted to make a red and black theme that took advantage of the dramatic contrasts that this color combo can achieve.

 

Devilish, menacing, provokative, I dunno.. thats what is running through my head as I throw this PS mockup together.

 

I suppose X-( I will be doing a light and dark windows version as I dont see anyway around it...

 

...so this one may take a while to complete but here it is in it early.. fluid stage.

 

Oh and I may just keep the small branding text... cos I know :snowman: would approve  ;)

I always label my layers....only because I'm such a pea brain and need it so I can find out what's what later

All u have to do is click on a layer to get it to be selected as long as long as you have Auto-select checked (it isn't checked by default in PS)

 

Much quicker than naming several hundred layers, my PSDS might be a little more complex than some.

Winstep xtreme is almost done....just waiting for more psds when they're ready!  Docks are pretty much done as well...just waiting to see the final images. ;) I'll post a screeny later...need :zzz:

Ok...nothing in the screenshot is final...it took me all of 10 minutes to throw this all together just to see how everything might look...so nothing has been tweaked yet and "everything" is subject to change depending on what John does. And I can't tell what I need till I see it John...so send whatever you have when you have it. :P

Not sure what WG had going on up there in his screeny as far as the taskbar and tray goes so I wanted to clarify how they actually look in the WB...this is dual taskbar of course.

I also worked on the lighting just below the all programs arrow in the logoff panel, in an attempt to get somewhat of an authentic under-glow  going on. }:) :borg:

and...who thinks the skull and bones should stay and who thinks its should go... one or other, no sub-styles  X-( :lol:

 

btw the logoff buttons glow red glass when moused over too.

I guess thats two stays.. |-)   btw IR, hopefully u noticed I centered the tray arrow on the divider line, that way, looks better if arrow isn't showing on someones system

 

I forgot to include context menu's.. the all programs menu is identical.

not sure what your asking doc? that last shot is a screenshot of XP...not a mock up... I always start with XP first.. unlike some other folks.
