WB sales staff lies about there product.

Problems, problems, problems.

I pretty much new around here. But all I read about in this forum is how so many people are having problems with all most all of the programs that are sold here. When I purchased WB 6 packaged with Skin Studio. When I read the sales info. It said that it did not interfear with any other products. But now I read so many people having problems and needing answers. So Stardock started a forum I see. Sure I have a few problems myself. Like when I right click on the task bar on my desktop. It disapearsfor about 4 seconds and then reapears. I just made my own work around for that. I put the Task Manager icon on my desktop and then added to the Object Dock.

 So here we all are in another forum looking for help. Well I can say I'm glad it's here. And I thank all of you that take the time to answer the same questions again and again. Thank you!

Hey ObiRon,  Stardock has been in business for many years because they produce quality products.  Because the nature of those products are tied into core peices of Windows and since people have very unique systems not every combination will work.  Users will have issues.

Over the years though . . it's turned out more often than not that a small change on the system resoles the problem.

These forums, while useful for community support actually started more as a community site.  A place for skinners to get together.  Thankfully they, and Stardock support, and all sorts of people are here to assist however we can.

I don't think that Stardock lies about their product.  If you are having issues, email [email protected] with the details of yoru problems.  They will be more than happy to assist you.  If, in the end, they cannot, you are eligible to a refund.

So . . email, or create a new post describing your system, the products you are using, the versions, and what exactly is going wrong.  I'm sure you will get some help.

On the other hand . .  calling representives of the company that runs the website where you are posting liars . . is a bad idea.  I'd edit that title if it were me.

No I think you are wrong, that is my personal opinion, I have had nothing but good out of my Stardock products, windowblinds is just magnificent as too are all the other software....to be able to interact with your computer the way objectdesktop allows you too is fantastic....and on my computer, all the Stardock products have just slipped into the OS as if they weren't even there......I am sorry if you are having problems but wow my friend, the software rocks big time 5* 5* 5* 5* 5* 5* :andrew:

I for one have never had any problems. I started to use Impulse when it was first available as Beta. Some had a few problems but I had none. As Zubaz said "since people have very unique systems not every combination will work. Users will have issues." However sooner or later with patience the issues were corrected.  So hang in there my friend and address specific problems and the people on here with the knowledge will do their best to assist you.

There are thousands and thousands of people that, over the years have used Stardock applications.
If anyone expects a/any piece of software to work flawlessly on every single PC configuration out there - one is ignorant.

Some people experience loads of problems - some none at all.
Some people experience conflicts with, lets say WindowBlinds and application X - some don't.

No software developer can guarantee that their/any software will work on all PC's - even if they are 100% equal.

That's just the way PC's are.

in my experience, most of the problems people have with stardock products is their own fault, ie. not installing properly, not following the instructions properly and just generally nopt knowing anything about computers and blaming the problems on everyone and everything else but their own ineptitude. To call stardock liars is insulting and offensive and possibly slanderous and bordering on libel. It's unfortunate that you are having problems but most likely it's because of something you have done wrong and not the product itself. :)

It has been my eXPerience that all my Stardock products worked flawlessly with XP. Stardock with Vista has been a little buggy, but so is Vista. There, I said it....lol!

Maybe you should get a little more familiar with computers in general before you become a judge of software.

Aren't you the one who asked how to remove the recycle bin on June 28th 2008 LINK

and then again on March14th,2009 LINK and got help from the community both times.

Also,on June 8th you had an issue with SKS which was resolved by support LINK

Now you want to insult the very people who make this help available to you.

Your original nick was more descriptive of your attitude, dntknwhw2b.

Both support and the community have been my most trusted source of information and help.The products are great and so are the people behind them.

As Zubaz said "since people have very unique systems not every combination will work. Users will have issues."

and the sooner Stardock realises the way to solve this problem for alltime, is to supply the computer that it was tested on with the first purchase, complementarily, the better off we'll be......preferably the $4,000 gaming rig.....   come on SD, it's not hard to keep your customers happy..

I'm sure I was summoned for the 'there'/'their' issue......  JAFOCHECK

But really....there IS no issue of 'lying', only one of a few people's experiences won't necessarily equate with the publicised majority experience.

Put in two words of zero ambiguity...

'shit happens'.

Not everyone's experience of a software install will be painless, no matter whose software it is.  That is the nature of the PC beast.

Eg...my personal experience with Impulse was a simple shutdown [of it] every time it was loaded....but since it was still in 'debug-mode' [beta] the solution was soon coded in so no-one else would have the same problem.  As a matter of interest the issue wasn't actually with Impulse...but with my OS itself...so coding was added to be more tolerant of others' OS oddities.

WindowBlinds is one of the most buggy piece of software I have ever used. And yet I still bought it just because nothing else out there does what WB does. It's amazing that the program even works, considering the Windows interface was never intended to be messed with like this.

April Fools day was on the first. ;P

I can be very critical of some things here, but I found this post to be defammatory and utter nonsense. I have found that these programs work quite well. Amazingly so considering the vast amount of configurations people have. I have several on this computer alone & I can vouch for these programs quality.
