WB sales staff lies about there product.

WB sales staff lies about there product.

Problems, problems, problems.

I pretty much new around here. But all I read about in this forum is how so many people are having problems with all most all of the programs that are sold here. When I purchased WB 6 packaged with Skin Studio. When I read the sales info. It said that it did not interfear with any other products. But now I read so many people having problems and needing answers. So Stardock started a forum I see. Sure I have a few problems myself. Like when I right click on the task bar on my desktop. It disapearsfor about 4 seconds and then reapears. I just made my own work around for that. I put the Task Manager icon on my desktop and then added to the Object Dock.

So here we all are in another forum looking for help. Well I can say I'm glad it's here. And I thank all of you that take the time to answer the same questions again and again. Thank you!

Gotta go be back soon.

haha.. One thing you should know.. I'm not support... but fact is.. the examples you are giving make no sense.. hold no water.

Sounds to me like WB bashing. ok.. so you have nothing installed, could be a hardware problem, could be a bios issue, could be drivers.cpuld be you patched your uxtheme.dll maybe??

Fact is no software is perfect on every machine... Ive helped hundreds and hundreds of folks on these forums for years.. what I won't do is help someone with a piss poor attitude bent on complaining as if someone owes them something.

I'll ditch WB way before I go and spend 1000$

I won't stand in your way. ;)

@jafo, great, so you're just telling me to uninstall my software which i need every day and see of windowblinds works well?

Put simply, yes.  If you want to understand what is the cause of your system instability...and perhaps it was a typo...but 'firefux' gave the impression your opinion [and need] of that software was less than great...;)

How about this: Fresh vista install + firefux + windowblinds = so far 4 crashes of explorer.exe, all because of windowblinds

How about this: from your other thread...

My pirated WindowBlinds copy on XP had it's own uninstaller and i didn't have to use crap like impulse and everything was fine

I think we found your problem right there ;)

My bad, typo, it's Firefox, a popular browser that has probably absolutelly nothing to do with WindowBlinds since it works fine under Windows XP with about 100 more programs with no conflicts whatsoever.

@Fuzzy Logic if you read the previous thread, I clearly mentioned that the WindowBlinds that I'm using on vista is legal. Also I'm not really pissed about explorer crashes, I'm just angry that I cant uninstall the reason for all this instability.

i know, i'll shut up after this but im with vStyler...i apply skins ALOT....never crashes me at all...like i said i have been using WB for years with NO issues unless cause by me. im not a regular user by any means but i mean if your going to own a piece of machinery that no doubt cost hundreds to thousands of dollars IMHO you better know already or get to learning how to use it, i get people all the time asking me to fix there computers or clean them up....personally im sick of it, LEARN HOW TO USE IT OR QUIT USING IT. its pretty much the same with any program, click on the installer and run it...wam, bam, thank you man...if it doesn't work dont use it. PEACE-OUT AND MUCH LOVE TO THE STARDOCK CREW

P.S. i'll probably be back to comment cause im an asshole i guess...hehe

Again, it would be nice to see a list of applications and drivers that are known to interfere with WindowBlinds on each version of Windows. So far, no-one has given a single exemple of a common pitfall other than "Your computer is broken, get a new one" which is so fanboyish.

That's your answer I suppose: You don't know how to use stuff, that's why it doesn't work, it's all your fault, noob.

Well for your information I usually troubleshoot problems myself, while working and maintaining multiple systems and configurations - it's a requierment. If the software is buggy, I simply don't use it, I'd do the same for WindowBlinds, just dump it. But due to a large ammount of requests i recieved to finish that glass skin i decide to try it again, but my paitience just ran out, this isn't the first time Stardocks software is causing problems on my vista, and i really don't see a potential reason\solution to this. I wouldn't even post here if WindowBlinds uninstaller worked, but I just happened to have Impulse running so i posted here hoping someone has a solution to this, yet I get such a respone from this community (more specific: vstyler) which clearly shows how much people are willing to help here. But in reality the solution is just blaming the users...

Perhaps that is because the "common" pitfalls are addressed as they are found?  That leaves only the uncommon ones.  :)

A process of elimination is useful in identifying those.

Gimme a break... come to a forum, act civil, have reasonable requests without slamming the makers of the software you want help for and u MAY get some help..from a volunteer who gives their time to help.. as for me, as i've said, no one who knows me will ever question my willingness to help a worthy person in need. Long after your gone.. I'll be here.. helping. ;)

i'll give you my list of applications and drivers that are known to interfere with WB on Vista64. you can see the complete list below.

NONE

and now for my list of applications and drivers that had issues with WB back in my XP days:

NONE

how many configurations did my rig go through during those days? at least a dozen considering i constantly change procs, ram, mobos, and vid cards. the only constant for my rig the last few years has been my lian-li case.......well, i did switch to a silverstone case recently but reverted back to the lian-li. :)

i also want to state i know many, many people who i have talked into buying WB for their rigs and none of them have had any issues with the app. their rigs range from simple entry level rigs with onboard video, 1 gb of ram, and sempron procs to high-powered gaming rigs with crossfire 4870 X2 configurations, 12 gigs of ram, and core i7 procs. i know what is in each of their rigs because i built them.  btw, stardock, my mom's 83 year old neighbor is eagerly awaiting the release of Helios.

With soft ware it is occasional that one would experience issues,I have had many issues with other software, I have yet been able to install far cry on my Vista box. I realize many think a PC is universal and every thing installed should work universally, but they dont. PC's are not like a CD player where you can insert any CD in to it and expect it to work flawlessly every time.

With thousands of possible software and hardware configurations out there, one should realize not every thing installed will work perfectly, if at all. But considering what the SD Products do, compared to most other software that runs akin to the OS,I think the software works for the majority of the people Just fine. The difference is with SD as xompared to many other companies is, when you post a problem on the forums you most likely will get a response directly from them, if not directly from the CEO himself.

Calling the SD people liars to bring attention to your issue will not prompt a faster response time, nor warrant anyone to want to offer assistance.

Is it really fanboi behavior or a community simply defending friends being attacked? I personally consider the SD staff as friends, as I have chatted up the lines with many of them for years and years, some on a daily basis. We have shared many personal tragedies and triumphs together, when the chips were down these Kind people were there to boost my spirits and lighten my day, and I in kind. Many of the community have even gone the way to even meet up with them for coffe or lunch. I hope one day in my travels, to beable to meet up with the staff and share a Pizza with them.

SD is a part of the skinning community, so to come to one of the communitys sites and attack them, one should expect the community to rally to their defense..

The OP was told on July 3rd,2008 that nView will conflict with WindowBlinds.(A very well-know issue)

He was told this again on March 18th,2009 and he still had not disabled nView at that time.

Now he is back and instead of seeking further assistance, wants to blame the software.

Failure to follow sound advice is not Stardocks fault. I rest my case and depart this thread.

Not worth it Gary. You're just trading barbs with a child.

Personally, I think they’re just confused over the reality that their brain isn’t in their pants.

That changes for some....

..... as they get older it becomes evident, even to them, their head was in the dark side the whole time. Unfortunately, for a few.... it's a lifelong attribute.
