Wild Card Tier:  I don’t know what goes on in these people’s heads, but they play on Sins enough to be on here.  These guys have been playing for so long, you wonder why they don’t quite get it.  Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they aren’t.  Usually they’re always one trick ponies.

 _|~Sire/KoK/King of Kodiaks/LiLZe/Kodiak_King - Tier #3 if he doesn't goof off.

kbroke - Tier #2 if he isn't on drugs or drunk, which is 99.9% of the time.

HuyMac - Tier #2 if he doesn't "Experiment".

Predator (WFU) - Tier #2, but lately he is just plain awful and I would rather pick a noob that know how to listen that to pick this guy.

We (skilled ICO regulars) played a bunch of games with them few weeks ago and they lost all of them. At that time they weren't really working as a team and their weaker players dragged them down.

That may have been early on.  They constantly improve, and are frequently top picks in 5s

I think you overestimate them a little. All of them are good, sure. But noone of them are tier 1 players.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that they are tier 1 players, but I think several of them have shown strong tier 2 abilities.

What I've heard many of them played since Vanilla. According to Bruno he played with them during Vanilla and Dumdee said suzi was from Vanilla/Trinity aswell.

I don't know tho. I'm Rebellion only.

Also, player named Multipawn merits tier 2 in my opinion.

I actually knew this guy from way back when I ran a guild in Homeworld: Cataclysm (best RTS ever btw).  Sound tactics, great team player, willing to learn.  All the right stuff.

its KingDeathGod(Kingdante ect) you remember the guy with worse spelling and grammar in the game. :)

i'm pretty rusty but ill should get back in gear pretty quick. i've already played some of your tier 2 players. I don't know did rebellion made people soft on the game or what ?

I crush ColdFront (Universe) every single game i've played with him so far even during my first week of the game. But I don't think I'm at the level of some tier 2 players yet so where should I go?

This list is pretty outdated imo.

I'd like to suggest having more tiers. The skill gap between players is to large for 3 tiers. There are players in each tier that can crush others that are in the same tier so this list is very misleading.

More tiers could help but it won't fix a few fundamental problems. What is player skill for the tiers based on?

Right now it is based on, at best, "educated guesses" along the lines of "yeah I played with him a few times and he was good". Talk to different people and you'll get different answers and different impressions of players. Sometimes players get map-fucked, sometimes their teammates let them down, sometimes they just plain suck for a few games, sometimes they get lucky. There's a couple tier1s I consistently beat or can match and some tier2s and 3s I've lost to more than once. There are lots of players on this list I've only come up against 1v1 once or twice at the most. I imagine it's the same for most others.

The best way to judge and create more distinct tiers would be to have a tournament where everyone played 1v1 with the same race on the same map but I don't see that happening any time soon. So we're left with a list of educated guesses curated by Howthe?. Which, for the most part, accomplishes the goal of just trying to get somewhat balanced teams for 5v5. I just can't think of any way to make it more precise without some kind of tournament and even that would be just a snapshot in time. Hopefully Sins2 is gonna have an elo based automatch, which is usually the way you can tell who the better players are in RTS games.
