Wild Card Tier:  I don’t know what goes on in these people’s heads, but they play on Sins enough to be on here.  These guys have been playing for so long, you wonder why they don’t quite get it.  Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they aren’t.  Usually they’re always one trick ponies.

 _|~Sire/KoK/King of Kodiaks/LiLZe/Kodiak_King - Tier #3 if he doesn't goof off.

kbroke - Tier #2 if he isn't on drugs or drunk, which is 99.9% of the time.

HuyMac - Tier #2 if he doesn't "Experiment".

Predator (WFU) - Tier #2, but lately he is just plain awful and I would rather pick a noob that know how to listen that to pick this guy.

Although it's How's list, we are calling it like a democracy and giving our opinions. I suppose some semblance of a rating system might come out of this democratic clamor since we don't have ladder. So here comes my two cents...

OK, so I am going to offer the perspective of "fear factor," meaning, "Who I really don't like to have as a neighboring enemy." This list in order of How's is as follows: Auqia, Kenn (previously known as JohnJames), PlayerSlayer, Doci, DieHard (Greg), Howthe?[DT], Hiroge-[_]. These folks excel in all of front line, suicide, and eco positions, as well as being good teammates (i.e., know who to feed when, know who to send support fleet to, don't quit the game, etc., etc.)

Now, I will talk about people who are overrated on How's list: ooloo (Quar - Note Quar is sometimes obstinate) [big reputation but doesn't seem to deliver, seems to like to quit, tier #1 ok, but most definitely not tier #0], Star Player[DT] (Radioactive) [borderline tier #1/tier #2], Suzijang [far from tier #1], JakeMac [top tier #2], ZuoAn [never played this person], [DT]Siddy [top tier #2]

And people who are underrated: ReD`Ruby [tier #1], Mr_Book [clearly tier #1].

On the China teams, good team players are anhpp and azurestar. The problem with the others might be one of communication (i.e., English/Chinese langauges). Therefore, when they get together on Team China as 5s, they might play better. But as an individual team member on an English-speaking team, they do not coordinate with other teammates well, except by pings. I am not trying to criticize anything here (i.e., I don't speak Mandarin/Cantonese/etc. etc.); I am just stating an objective fact that the sum is not greater than the parts (except for anhpp and AzureStar) when the Chinese-speaking and English-speaking teammates are mixed together on a team of 5s.

  No offense, but is it really necessary to have the first three categories?  3 Tiers should be sufficient.  At first glance this list looks like an arse kissing slowly turning into a legit list, then mutating a troll on the lower "Tiers" that are set up.  3 Tiers of pros would be sufficient to see who's who, since anyone good enough to be on this list needs to be adaptable anyway or risk being a one-trick-pony.

I think we need to move into just one tier with several sub tiers with color coded tabs that further divide them.  Ideally we could get everyone on their own tab.

 

Or... a ladder/rating system in game with points based on strength of opponents in a given game.

I am not trying to criticize anything here (i.e., I don't speak Mandarin/Cantonese/etc. etc.); I am just stating an objective fact that the sum is not greater than the parts (except for anhpp and AzureStar) when the Chinese-speaking and English-speaking teammates are mixed together on a team of 5s.

Well I just beat tier 0 player (who I will not name) in a 1v1, and I wouldn't say it was because of map or plain luck.....but I don't think that makes me a tier 0, not in the slightest...

 

General trends though are a different thing...if Ruby has consistently performed at tier 1 level then he should be there...many people have vouched for him to be there, so maybe it's time the change be made How....

Everyone loses a game sometimes.  A long time ago I had to point out to someone that if you are constantly reminding people about the time you beat a tier 1 player, but no one else finds it particularly newsworthy to mention the times they beat you, you might not be tier 1.  ;)

One game don't mean anything but if you do consistently beat tier 0 player , you should be placed in tier 0 or higher.

I too consistently beat 1st or 2nd picked players in a skilled game and i'm still the fat kid or last few picks cuz alot of captains are clueless about player's skill level. :)

He "beat" me using wail in a 1v1.  Sure, I lost to wail.  Should I have let him even get that far in the game where he could use wail?  Probably not, but I made an early mistake and fought for my life to get back to #1 credits and #1 fleet at the time of wail, but yes, he did wail me to "win".  I'm not ashamed now and will never be ashamed to say I lost to wail.
