Hate Speech - or Joke?

Hate Speech - or Joke?

Just recently, San Cho posted this Photoshop picture of Sarah Palin in a KKK uniform in the comment section of my blog.

-

I personally condemn the picture and I can't find any humor in it.  My question is simple. Does anyone else condemn this?

And who supports it? I have joked around with photoshop pictures before, but I have never put anyone in a Hitler or KKK uniform because that goes beyond being a joke and crosses over into the realms of full blown hate speech.

You're right on. I absolutely agree. I'm voting the "Calorie ticket" from now on!

Like Lays Potato chips, they cant stop at trashing just one woman.

I guess what goes around comes around. ;-)

Oh yes, almost forgot: "shouldn't be let out of the kitchen".....shouldn't have agreed as I can't vouch fer her cookin'. If the statement was to emphasize the damage she could/would cause in high office, then I agree with starkers. Nothing anti-feminist was intended by him or me.

If there are, they dont normally make the news.

Let's all support a minority President!

Joe Lieberman would be ideal. He is a man (45%), Jewish (2%), and orthodox (10% among Jews). (Numbers are my guesses.)

That clearly outminorities Barack Obama (45%, 15%, 80%) and Hillary (55%, 70%, 80%). (80% is Protestants among respective ethnicity.)

She is as inexperienced as Obama. How could she cause more damage?

If we're going to name certain classes worthy of special protection via increased sentencing for violence perpetrated against them based on race, gender, etc....why not include 'political affiliation' as well?

I don't know US hate crime laws, but I am wondering whether Jews are one of the groups with special protection.

Does anybody know?

Apart from the comment relating to the vacuum between Palin's ears, this has made the most sense regarding this whole political thing in these 'ere forums yet.  Yup, Pizza and icecream.... and cheesecake for Secretary of State, apple pie for Secretary of the Treasury, a moose burger with the lot for the Secretary of Agriculture.... and last but not least, curried cabbage for the Secretary of Defense.  With a WMD such as that in charge of the Pentagon, everybody will become a friend of the US... for fear of getting downwind of the Pentagon boss.

Given her various other, er, how should I put it... misadventures; hair-brained bridges to nowhere; foreign policies based on a view of Russia from her bedroom window and such frequent momentary lapses of reason that joined together they make one ginormous cock-up, I wouldn't vouch for Palin's culinary ski.... er, cooking, either.

So yeah, given her enormous propensity to be the dullest tool in the shed, yeah, my statement was in relation to Palin's lack of integrity, spend-happy ineptitude and lack of competence to hold high office.  Thing is, now I think about it all, I ain't too sure if she should have ever been allowed in a kitchen, either.  Hehe!

I've got a rough couple of months ahead, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Yup, sure sounds like it... but you're a tough ol' bird and you'll pull through with flying colours and have a whole new lease on life. Take it easy and I hope it all goes exceedingly well for you.... no emoticons for me right now, so here's a text *smile* instead.

How did I know it would get around to us? Oh well, I wouldn't vote for or against Lieberman on the basis of religion any more than for or against Obama based on melanin content of the epidermis.

By virtue of the brain voltage (High in his case, w a y too low in hers).

Yes. Virtually every minority is, in the case of Jewish people there is also the wee, tiny hiccup called the Holocaust.

That's the ticket!!!!! :-D

It's ludicrous to think that if I beat the crap out of my neighbor, I'm only going to charged with assault and battery, but if I call him 'dreaded N word' WHILE I'm kicking the crap out of him, it becomes a federal crime with increased sentences.

Not so. The motive for a crime changes it's "special circumstances". If someone were dressed in a Nazi uniform and was beating up a Rabbi, would you think it was simple assault and battery? Obvously not. It shouldn't be treated as that either.

Lithotripsy on Monday, a two week rest period after that, then an open and total hysterectomy on Nov 10th, (they found monstrous uterine fibroids all wrapped around and crowding out my innards as well as large and ominous looking ovarian cysts)....followed 6 weeks later (assuming all goes well) by some pro-bono plastic surgery on my face to repair the damage my first husband inflicted. (Thanks to a program for domestic violence victims called 'Face to Face.')

Oh G-d....so sorry, little-whip. Hope ominous turns out "Big Nothing".

Thanks for asking. I've got a rough couple of months ahead, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Here to ya! And the hope the light at the end of the tunnel ain't New Jersey (shudder, chill). ;-)

Yesterday a female McCain volunteer was the victim of a mugging while withdrawing cash from her ATM machine. She handed over the money as the robber demanded, but when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on her car, proceeded to beat the crap out of her and carve a large 'B' (for Barack) on her face.

Just released: She fabricated the whole thing...

Shades of the past!

Thanks Phoon. The thought ran through my head which was why I asked for the reference. Little-Whip has been through alot and stands to go through quite a bit more. It's completely understandable why she would react strongly to this kind of story, as many more of us would as well.

The rush to judge is too strong just now, and I recommend we all relax a tad. ;-)

There's is some value in refreshing honesty. But I doubt NOW will ever acknowledge it.  They whored themselve to the democrat party a long time ago.  I doubt you will find any reprecussions from them.  But women will find reprecussions in the future.  As the democrats have no reason to worry about their vote in the future.

Then SHE should be charged with a 'hate crime.' (Or at least strung up in public for all to throw rotten fruit at her or something,)

One would expect she'd be charged with making a false report to police...not to mention Mccain wanting her balls on a plate for screwing his election chances even more via fraudulent behaviour.

Well, this is a pretty disturbed person and yeah she's gonna be minus a job and a criminal charge on the books.....but, true to the BHL in my new nick, I feel sorry for her and the need to do such a thing. Turns out that isn't the first lie she's told on his "behalf". McCain is, unfortunately now linked to 'race baiting'. I wasn't a supporter before, and this stuff (and Limbaugh attributing Obama's visit to his ill grandmother to more nefarious motives) makes it even less likely to ever happen.

Also true to the BHL, I feel sorry for this man who was at one point in his life was a source of great strength to other POW's, behaving in an exemplary manner under great and ultimately crippling distress and torture.

He certainly doesn't deserve this disgrace being associated with his name.

Hey, Dr G, you want ter cut down on yer rum intake thar me bucko... it be do'wen nay good fer yer Zubish afflicshun whatsoever. :-"

Just released: She fabricated the whole thing...

As for this election, it has got to the point where there's so much nefarious claptrap going on it seems that a large part of the US is having great difficulty with the truth right now... in how to interpret and/or tell it..... and to be blunt, I have never seen such crazy antics and sheer lunacy over political beliefs/ideals/affiliations in my entire life.  It has gone fron the sublime to the completely ridiculous (when people make false police reports) and you can't even call it passion, loyalty or dedication... because those are all positive attributes, and at times these are not being exhibited by a large number of otherwise decent human beings.

Yup, it is quite disturbing (to the point of being sickening) that normally rational, civilised and friendly people become raging political lunatics and go to extremes beyond reason when others (friends included) happen not to share the same political views or associations, etc.... so yeah, I for one will be glad when this political circus leaves town and (for the most part) some sembance of sanity takes up residency in the main street again.

Peace! :sun: :) \o/

OMG! That is funny as hell...."normally rational"...if that were even remotely true we wouldn't be in the position we're in now. I'm afraid the raging political lunatic circus is here to stay and this is actually normal behavior...it's just that it gets more press during election time. This isn't the country I grew up in a long time ago...the one I used to be proud of...its just an empty shell anymore. How and why we elect these knuckleheads is sad beyond belief.

And it isn't sanity that takes up residency again....it's apathy.

Thanks TonyR for posting the photo....

Your tag, "If your enemy is destroying himself, don’t interfere.", just about says it all.

I haven't read your blog on which San Cho posted this....I wonder besides this....did he post any substantive argument against Palin of whom he obviously has great disdain?

Aiko8 posts:

The pictures should be condemned. Not on the basis of "Hate Speech" (which is really a term to justify thought police) but on the basis to demean and smear another person's character. And to associate them with persons and/or groups who have been condemed in the past/present for their actions aganist the rest of humanity.

I agree.

starkers posts #97

Is Barack Obama any better? Yes, I believe he is! While Obama has been judged, condemned and criticised for various acquaintances and associations (none of which make him spend-happy, corrupt or a terrorist), Palin has cock-ups and dubious practices that can be attributable directly to her. Put bluntly, Palin lacks integrity, is predominantly self-serving and has far too many character flaws to holes any kind of public office and should never have been let out of the kitchen in the first place.

I disagree. Palin is a breath of fresh air and not change but optimism that Washington and America needs. Is her time now, I don't know, but she brings forth a force that will not go away if Conservatives have any say in the matter...and we do.

On Palin, paraphrasing Townhall Magazine comments:

Sarah Palin has come under fire and shown unwavering grace.....her commitment to life, fiscal conservatism and no-nonsense reform (against wrongdoers in the GOP) has enable her to do the unthinkable: unite a fractured party of fiscal, social and libertarian conservatives.

Leauki posts:

Considering Obama's association with a racist pastor, whom he knew for over a decade and who was his "spiritual guide" before he suddenly barely knew him, I would say he lacks integrity.

The man is not even fifty and has achieved NOTHING (except for himself), yet he wrote TWO autobiographies. (I wonder whether he mentioned writing the first in the second?) I would say that is "prodemoninantly self-serving".

As for character flaws, I think it is a character flaw to work as a lawyer suing banks that won't give mortgages to poor people and then present yourself as the President who is best qualified to solve the economic crisis caused by his earlier work.

Well said, Leauki, and I note that none of your points have been rebutted. Add to that Joe Biden's show of inexperience.....

He was against Reagan's strategic Defense initiative.....

He fought reagan's efforts to fund the freedom fighters in Nicaragua..

He opposed the Surge.....

He wanted to partitition Iraq....

To all of you who tout Obama and hold him up high, clapping wildly as he props himself as a Greek god in front of Greek pillars with the fireworks going off....the gloves are off....he's undone himself...it goes back to TonyR's tag line,

The comparison between McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden is precious life itself....Obama if elected will take our country deep into the Culture of Death....

This is where Obama falls woefully short of true manhood. To Palin, children are a blessing from Almighty God, not a "curse", or a "burden" or a "mistake" or "punishment" as Obama calls them. Palin shows by her life that children should never be sacrificed for the sake of one's career or to cadge votes from the pro-abortion crowd.

It's very simple why the Left is seething with hatred and lashing out against Palin......Sarah Palin is 100% pro-life....and she lives her pro-life principles. The only "choice" Obama approves is DEATH to the inocent unborn baby in the womb. And besides that, death to the poor baby who survives a botched abortion...Obama supports infanticide...

Oh, ya, people,....it's time for some change all right....50 million dead babies is enough innocent blood shed in America's abortuaries.....it's time to give the unborn babies some of that "hope" that Obama keeps talking about....only he is stone hard clueless...wanting to give babies only Death, by a abortionist's knife, scalpel, a suction machine, or a pair of scizzors to the back of the head or left alone to die in a linen closet.

Obama promised the professional baby-killers at Planned Parenthood that he would make legalized abortion untouchable...never to be outlawed or restricted in any way....

On the other hand, McCain/Palin say they would give every baby the fundamental inalienable right to life which comes from our Creator and is the bedrock philosophy enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

You can disagree all you like... but Sarah Palin IS NOT suitable Washington Material, period.  The woman is so fundamentally flawed she represents a clear and present danger to the citizens of the US, and subsequently the World.  However, if you wish to remain blind and totally oblivious to everything that is patently wrong with her, then give her your vote because you will inevitably suffer more immediate, profound and devastating consequences than I ever will... I don't live there, but if you see fit to inflict such a loose cannon on your fellow citizens, you're the one who has to sleep at night when the political vacuum between her ears provides no answers, just more grief.

Yes, I have seriously bad feelings about the woman (stuff I have seen...hmmm, we won't go there), but fortunately the alternative will prevail and the whole World will be grateful for having been spared the political catastrophe that she is.

Yeah. Instead of having to deal with an inexperienced vice-president the world will have to deal with an equally (actually more) inexperienced president. That's obviously better.

I don't know why McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, but in doing so he certainly uncovered left-wing misogyny (not that we were surprised after seeing how they treated Hillary) and suddenly lack of experience became an attribute the left claims makes one unable to hold high office.
