Does the connection have to make sense?

For example, if somebody put Nader in the outfit of an ambulance chaser, I would think it's hilarious (because he is a lawyer). But if somebody made him out to be a new Hitler, I wouldn't think it's funny, because I don't see a connection.

I still don't see why it is funny to imply a connection between Palin and the KKK. The KKK _hate_ George Bush and his policies; they certainly don't like John McCain, and a _woman_ politician married to an Eskimo is certainly not to their liking. Plus the KKK are not really into the idea of powerful women and Sarah Palin is too much on McCain's side. And what about handicapped children? What do you think is the KKK's view on handicapped children of white women and Eskimos?

It is your chronology that is distorted. She is talking about the reconstruction era, after the Civil War. Slavery was outlawed at that point.

"Wade In The Water" I understand is a 20th century song referring to Moses and his people. The urban legend about those songs being coded messages for fugitive slaves is perhaps what you are referring to. Is that what they teach in universities these days?

(Do you believe that fugitive slaves needed to be told that they should walk in water to escape hounds? It's not rocket science and slaves probably knew a lot more about blood hounds than those who later tried to find coded meaning in their songs.)

The pictures should be condemned.  Not on the basis of "Hate Speech" (which is really a  term to justify thought police) but on the basis to demean and smear another person's character.  And to associate them with persons and/or groups who have been condemed in the past/present for their actions aganist the rest of humanity.

The costumes and/or scenes within either picture are not meant as "jokes".  How an individual can attempt to argue otherwise is beyond me.  As far as I'm concerned they're outright attacks who have joinged with others to assualt Palin in one way or another for either being a mother, a mother of five, a mother of a child with Down's Syndrome (some media members even made attacks against the child himself), pro-gun responsibility, pro-life, Christian, and a social conservative.

The major news media outlets with their love affair with Sen. Barack Obama and his socialist  history & sordid voting record does just fine without anyone else joining in on the smear campaigns focused on Gov. Sarah Palin.  All this does is make light of the American responsibility to vote within an informed manner.

There's a growing community of users of "Phoney Umbrage", and folks just looking for a reason to be "offended". Most of it based on one "entitlement" or another. The main reason for it though is profit of one kind or another.

Who cares about silly Photoshopped crap on the net? Laugh at it or shake your head....but move on. No one's gonna apologize or worry about your hurt feelings. The world just doesn't spin that way anymore (if it ever did).
