Hello again

I would like to re-announce to the Community the latest on the tribute suite to BoXXi. We have now voted and with input from BoXXi and from the community it is decided that instead of building a suite from an existing BoXXi work ( fruitloops ) , we will now complete what would have been BoXXi's 100th submussion to WC.

The skin the commiunity has chosen will be One Hundered.

I have uploaded the source to https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=955&libid=18

I now ask the following for volunteers for the following:

Windowblinds

Iconpackager/Dock icons

Dock Backgrounds

DesktopX gadgets (Weather/clock/calendar)

Media player skins (Xion/Winamp/WMP)

Application skins ( Rainlendar/Sysmetric )

I would like to take this opportunity to invite any and all skinners , coders , testers and anyone that can help out to contribute to help out . If you have code or graphics you would like to build your skin around , or to allow this project to use , it would be appreciated.

If someone on the IRC channel has a 24x7 connection , it would be appreciated if a channel #onehundred could be created so we can come in and chat about our ideas.

I would also like to ask that this thread be stickied / an article created for it.

I'll edit this post as we get more into the project.

It needs no reminding , but this is Our tribute to BoXXi.

Well, guys. Here is what I have. These shots are using my wall, which I think goes well. All I lack are sounds and the DX themes are done. First is 100 DX Dark.






Next is 100 DX Light. I will upload both when everyone else is ready.

I realize that this is a tribute skin for Boxxi, but in tribute to the late George Carlin, when you click the 100 on the DX theme, to empty the recycle bin, George says "I'll be right back...I gotta take a dump"!  ;)

yes jim i did get that email, but i got no idea why that is happening, no one else who has the skin has reported the problem...and i dont have the problem, its an xp and vista skin, so just make sure you are choosing the right sub for you O.S

btw, looks fantastic jim......


oh..xiandi that line is gone now..the version i sent you still had that line thing, the new version dosent have that...gave you the wrong version...but its still okay,just with that line, but as you wrote, you solved it, so no biggie

And here you go .. I have only had kitty's 100 WB since yesterday afternoon .. but I have made good
progress on it ... there is still a fair bit of work to do on it ( fine editing,etc..) ..

Actually , it does work quite well at the moment .. but it's not quite ready yet .. won't be long ...

hehe I like the way it has turned out too ... as you already know I usually have plenty of time to fiddle about .. and I can have a go when I am done with this one ... It should not be too long now , but as I said before ... the little bits take time ...!!

How are we going to sort out the permission text stuff ... as I will need one from you (parts of your WB) and Boxxi (parts of his WB) ,surely ... ?

Is there going to be "global permission text" that we can copy paste in ?

As I CANNOT upload here , I will be putting it on the DS Forums AND Skinning.net ... so you will need to put those two links into the main Post/download page ...

Ditto! As for setting a date, I don't know how we could do that without pressuring anyone who hasn't finished thiers yet. At the same time, I am eager to release mine. There must be some way we could all get together on a date. Maybe everyone who is working on this project should post thier ETA's here. Then we could decide on a date that suits all? Just an idea.

Think the best way to get it released the same day would be to once all have finished put it all into Moderation and ask that it's held back until all out of Moderation. If not would be a bit released here and there depending on how busy the Moderator for each gallery was.

well, since there is no boxxi images, i cant see the problem, the whole wb was my own work, inspired by boxxi and his 100 idea for a suite. if any permission is needed ill give it right and now...


I KittyMalone hereby give permission for artists of the 100wb community suite to use my graphics in any shape or form they see fit, to render into their own work and call it their own.

Thank you very much kitty ... FYI the sidebar is done !

~ At the moment it is being put through its' paces by my tester , ( I have sent him a copy of the windowblind for matching/tweaking purposes ) who will make sure that what you see is what you get ... Not a lot has changed from the screenshot in post 185 ... Just a few cosmetic tweaks and a fair bit of work on the .xml ..

I think at this point I should say that this sidebar was great fun to put together ... I truly hope folks will enjoy using it ...

I will inform you all when Its ready for posting ... should be a few days ... ok ?

awsome mike.....i wont be able to start on the cursors until the 12th of this month (july) hope thats okay....just have my lil girl with me for holidays atm...so cant do much skinning until then......but trying to keep up to date with what is going on here in our lil community post.
