Round 8 Details

This is an ALL VICTORY Round!!!

This Round will take place on a SMALL map with FIVE Opponents.





Since this is an ALL VICTORIES Round its setup is different than previous rounds. A Team is required to get a Victory of Each Type (Conquest, Alliance, Technological, and Influence) to receive the Base 8 points. Also, unlike 'normal' rounds, All Victory Rounds only allow for a Bonus Point for fastest game and highest scoring game in each category (so still only 8 individual bonus points available). 

At the end of this round, which will end at 11:59:59pm FORUM TIME ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30TH, 2008 we plan on holding a Draft. Setup for the Draft will be the same as before. More details will be given once Round 8 is over.

To my fellow players in the Midwestern US: Sorry for causing all the shaking and rumbling last night that you felt, but its Grand Prix week here at Purdue, and I was having a grand old time; and really, can you blame me? I mean, trust me, it was worth it :LOL:

I think most are blaming it on the earthquake that happened in Illinois :) . I guess I was just out of the 450 mile range that it could be felt.

sorry you won't be with us next round, but we'll keep a spot warm for you. As to the quake my Facebook status even reads Dys: "All those Californians must be laughing at the Midwest for freaking out over a little 5.2"

i woke up, thought it was the wind (its been very windy here lately, and I'm in Tornado Alley so its not unheard of), saw that my blinds weren't moving (window is open), figured out it was a quake, was like "sweet!" and went right back to sleep :LOL:

Update on Team D. We havent heard from RexDaddy for this round, and he didnt submit a game last round. I sent PMs here and at the Core, but no response yet, and havent seen him at our team forum.

We also havent heard from Lethrin for a couple weeks.

ok...keep us updated...from what i'm aware of, you are still able to complete the mandatory 4 games for this round however?

Once this round ends and we get into the Draft, we'll have a much better picture of where we stand and where we can go from there.

Nope

OK, I'll poke Tech again.

I guess he missed it because I sent two different PM's, first one for you because DSep wasn't registered as DSep. Then once DSep responded that he was Dangerous Dave, I sent another for him. Tech responded to the 2nd PM but must have missed the first one.

Hopefully he'll send you a PM by Monday morning EST. Or perhaps DSep could PM you here or at the Core with the password sooner. It is surprising that no other Team B folks have responded. :(

It's not that urgent, really, but thank you. I can always just check the forum from my work pc when I get back in town. I can't play any galciv2 until I get back either, so no worries. Might be cutting this round's submission a little close is all.

YAHA.... I was figuring, not to make the other teams cry too much, but only beat them by a few points so they dont feel too inferior. We don't want too many players to leave, I know Kzinti is a little sensitive :LOL:

A reminder to everyone that we are getting down to the final days of Season Two.

DSep: have you been able to contact anyone with Team B to be able to start a game/know what's going on?

KzintiPatriarch: How's your situation with your team. Saw your reminder/call out for Rex, thanks for that.

Season Three Draft: Based on the earlier discussion in this round...Each team gets two draft picks; the rest will be randomly assigned. I am leaning toward randomly choosing the order of the First Round, and then proceeding in Reverse Order for the Second Round (ie 1,10; 2,9; 3,8; 4,7; 5,6). How does that sound? That way no one will know until the Draft what order they will actually be in.

I know Dystopic said he was most likely sitting out next round, who else do I need to plan on not being here?
