I am disappointed in the no-shows we had but we will move forward as always.

Not that it makes any difference but, I should have the speed bonus, instead of Dystopic. I don't really care, except for accuracy's sake.

But I still hope you remember, in the spirit of sportsmanship, that we DID, in fact, beat your original team and DID take first place, but you guys pulled out in the end, and for that you have my begrudged respect... and my congratulations.

But, all is not lost, from the OP of this thread I can literally say, we may have lost the battles but we ARE winning the war.

Like I mentioned in the other thread it's good for folks to mention these things and no one should take any offense because we are all human.

The point is that FB, Silver and myself all came up with our own results independently and then compared them. It's only natural that the first and most important thing to compare are the final team results. Any differences in the final score are immediately investigated and resolved. However, errors that don't make a difference to the final outcome are a bit more difficult to spot and certainly may still occur.

Call me Duh, but I really don't understand MVL scoring. In Round 5, Iztok turns in 11,200 in 1 yr and gets submission rank 19?

PlayJeff submits 11,200 in 4 yrs. and gets submission rank 22. Galen sumits 5,400 in 4 yrs and gets submission rank 6?

I must not be understainding what "submission rank means." Can some one clarify this? Thanks a bunch.

its the Order in which the Player submitted his/her Official Game to the MVL Round Thread. So, Iztok was the 19th player to submit his game. Does that help?

Yes, thanks, I assumed the submission rank had to do with the game scores, which it does not. However, it appears that the average submission rank is a factor in the team's bottom line score, so it's best to submit early on...is that correct? Thanks.

yes, that is correct...to an extent. The team with the earliest average submission time, and the runner-up, both get Bonus Points. The thing to make sure however, is to check with your team before submitting a game. Sometimes teams have specific strategies and goals concerning game speed and score that early submission may exclude.

I do want to point out an exceptional piece of gamesmanship achieved primarily by FireBender.

He managed to get an exact tie with a teammate in both speed *and* score and thereby "manufactured" an extra speed bonus point so that his team could grab a share of the win. I have reason to believe that this was intentionally planned and not just a fortuitous accident, which makes it all the more impressive.

On another note a three way tie for the win bodes well for the level of competition in the league. Congratulations are in order for all the teams that "won" as well as their honorable competition (i.e. that's everyone).
