I am so sad to hear this. MM has given me some support and encouragement when I needed it most. He is a wonderful person and I am praying my hardest for him. I do believe in miracles and the power of intercessory prayer. I am sending healing thoughts and a prayer request to my church.

Elie, May God's healing love flow to every cell in your body, strengthening and restoring you to wholeness.

I'm torn.  On the one hand I want Elie to fight to stay here, and on the other....well, I'm not going to go there.  Not right now, anyway.

I'll just say that I'm going to ask the universe to send not only healing Elie's way, but also the strength to fight this virus so he can stay here with his beloved Colleen.

HI all thi s is Michele(gimpyone) Elies best friend from New Hampshire. I just wanted to say thank you all for thinking of Elie and Colleen through all this. He has spoken fondly of you all to me. He is a warrior and he will fight this as long as he can. I have been traveling to see Colleen and Elie for the last 5yrs and every time before I leave he tells me that we will see each other again, he promises actually. He has yet to break a promise to me, I last got to travel last May and he again promised me that we would see each other this year, so I know he won't give up.
Thank you all again, have to run now, tears are flowing.... DAMNIT

Hello All - I don't have alot more to report....his temperature is down slightly this morning, but there has not been any other significant change. They have done xrays, bronchictomy, ultrasound, spinal tap and cat scans, all with negative results. The only thing that we have not gotten the results back on are the lung cultures and they should be back today or tomorrow.

I wanted to say thank you. This generous outpouring of love and good wishes made me feel so good, I had to sit down and have a good cry before I could respond.

I will do as was suggested in an earlier post and take the page of responses with me to the hospital today and read them to Elie. He has not regained consciousness since Sunday, but I'm betting that somewhere in there, he can hear my voice.

Thank you all so very much, especially those of you that were able to put your differences with Elie aside to offer your kind wishes.

I'll certainly let you know as things progress. Yes, please do send cards, but NOT flowers as ICU does not allow them....

When I was in the hospital with a little kidney infection this man went to the trouble of finding out how to contact me and called me...more than once...to check on me. In fact, he was the first person besides my husband and children, to find out that my baby would be a girl. I remember how sweet he was, repeating her name back to me on the phone.

He has always been one to check on people if they haven't been blogging much, or to offer words of encouragement (or hard-earned wisdom) when one of us are struggling. He is so fiery and yet underneath it all, such a soft-hearted person.

Elie is a precious, precious man, unique in all the world, and it hurts to hear how very sick he is. Thank you, Colleen (and Michele and Sabrina) for keeping us updated. He is so loved, and I hope he knows that.

was to begin mentally composing a post demanding northern california property owners be assessed no less than 6% of their real estate's 2010 projected value. all monies collected will be paid as salaries to a select group of high-level nation of islam members to compensate them being officially charged with overseeing all corporate oil production/refinery operations in the state. each would be appointed to the position of 'sultan' by the governor altho under penalty of law, no one except other sultans would be permitted to use that word in reference to these individuals.

i was just gettin to the part where each sultan could, in turn, appoint a member of hamas as his deputy when i realized i had to scoot right then or be two days late checking in with my parole officer.
