Space Ranger 2 crashing.. Help!!!

I just bought Space Ranger 2 from Stardock and the game keeps crashing on me. It would always crash near the beginning of the game where I'm given the quest to do the first robot battle. The loading screen would come up, then the screen would go black and I would get an exception error. I can not see the error, but when I ctrl-Alt-Del, there is an exception tab that I can not select.

I don't know where to go for help...
