I've been looking in from time to time.
The reason why I haven't been posting many games is because I have been expirementing with mods.

For those of you that haven't checked the Metaverse lately, the Galactic Diplomats are very close to overtaking us. I think a few characters that haven't been used for a while -- or have been having really, really long games -- are posting high scores again.

Hey there guys, seems that the diplomats still hold a 70,000 point lead at the moment, but the competition seems to be pretty healthy, I have just posted another game which should close the gap another 20,000 or so points - a few big hitter games and we should catch the Diplomats.

Merry X-ma to all those Orca's out there, I hope most of you are having some time of over the x-mas period! This is the first time in around 8 years that I have taken holidays off over x-mas, which is a real novelty!

It looks like at long, long last I may have broken into the top one hundred. I will have to wait for the next update, but I should be sitting on exactly the one hundred ranked player spot.

I have to tell someone about this last game of mine. I decided I wanted a token Pond Scum game, so that the Metaverse calculator would have less trouble evaluating my alignment. The Arceans got into a dominant position quite early, and eventually started to invade everyone else. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that all the Good races they attacked surrendered to them! Anyway, I thought about using my usual Influence tactics, but there was clearly too much risk in provoking the Arceans. Anyway, by the time I started researching Tech Victory, there was just me, the Arceans, the Terrans and the Thalans left. With about a dozen turns to go, the Arceans finally declared war on me. Too little, too late. They blew up a lot of my ships, but I fought off their few invasions and won the game.

Better than 100 Mr Ras man, you are officially ranked 95th, which is awesome work! I remeber how pumped I was breaking into the top 100! I don't think I have ever tried to persue a tech victory - do you get much in the way of metaverse points for a tech Victory?

Well I've managed to sneak into the top 50, placing @ 35 at the moment, My new aspiration is to sneak into the top 25, even if it's only for one day! 2-3 more games at my current points pace should place me within range for a top 25 spot, althought it kinds hinges on how crazy the people above and below me go over the next few weeks it will take me to log those games onto the 'verse.

The Orca's are still within striking distance of the evil diplomats empire!

Thagee, the points are lousy for a Tech Victory. If you look at my record, I usually get from 14,000 to 16,000 for Influence, but I used to get about 8,000 for a Tech Victory. Still, any victory is better points-wise than any defeat.

We had a valued member leave our ranks from what seems to me to be a misunderstanding. His value had actually very little to do with his points, even though he was a significant contributor. We would welcome him back instantly if that were to be his choice, otherwise we wish him well wherever he may go.

Enjoy first place while you can. You've not seen the last of the Diplomats by a long shot. It is good to see this back and forth action, I think the competition is good for all. Congrats for now.

I am being confounded by this gigantic game at the moment, and am not far from throwing in the towel, however I will try to stick it out, but the freaking Thalan's are out of control!

Still got my eye on the top 25 prize, although with the points degredation it does make it harder and harder as each week slides by without another game post...

He hasn't joined anyone as of yet, but he is his own man. People do come and go, hopefully with no hard feelings. If he choses to join the Orca's that won't mean he won't still be liked and respected by the Diplomats.

However on another note, I would like to draw your attention to the Is anyone else out there thread. We're discusing the formation of a metaverse council to come up with suggestions to improve interest and participation in the metaverse. Orca777 has posted there but it would be good to have the input of other Orca's as well. Come on by and throw in your 2 cents worth.

Yes, I think this attempt is worth beeing supportet by more players!

It does seem like we're getting pretty good support from metaverse players in general. We've been discussing it among our individual empires and it looks as if the Diplomats, HCH and Arrakis are pretty supportive and are close to being able to approve of a metaverse council at least in concept.

At this point it truly does seem that the only active empires out there are the Orca's, Diplomats, HCH and Arrakis. Also I think that the Diplomats, HCH and Arrakis have discussed this sufficiently within their own empires that they're very close to being able to offically decide whether or not to support the metaverse council.

A few Orcas’ have expressed support for the council both here and in the "Is anyone else out there" thread. What's missing is a general discussion among Orca's culminating in a decision whether or not to support this metaverse council.

How each empire decides whether or not to support the metaverse council is up to each individual empire. In the Diplomats, I'll be taking a poll of members shortly. I would request that the Orca's disscuss this as an empire and hopefully be able to come up with a yea or nay answer within a few days. From there we can begin discussions on details such as how many representatives and other similar issues.

Yes at this point we are waiting for three Empires, the Orcas, the Diplos, and the Arrakis. Hopefully we shall have a meeting by the end of next week.

The Constitution idea thread is now open to everyone. If you want to influence the decision for the final document stop by and give your opinion. This will decide some thing like representation and membership.

And you have to admit, that getting through the differntent threats according to the idea of a MV council takes some time.

Yes, it does take time. But, we have accomplished a lot over the weekend. HCH and Diplos are already on board with this assembly. Now we just need Arrakis and you guys to agree to participate and we can actually form a Council. Hopefully more members of your Empire will become informed through this forum.

Once again i inform you that you are one of the remaining active empires that has been asked to help form the Council. The lack of reponse is quite disturbing, so i want to offer a place to the council to the first two active members that will respond. Your position will remain intact on the Council untill either your Emperor or other high ranked members of your Empire return to either oppose or the support you. Any responses, critisism or thank yous are very much welcome.

I agree with what TheGreatEmperor (TGE) has proposed. We have been trying to email your emperor, Thebestaintyou but we've had no response. Syrrus K has stopped in both here and on the metaverse council threads and expressed his support. I would hope that Syrrus K would "volunteer" to serve on the council until as TGE mentioned the Orca's replace or confirm his posting. There's no doubt that Syrrus has both the metaverse standing as well as the standing in the GC2 forums that warrants his place on this council.
The 2nd representative is just as important. Please would thagee, ras1310, Orca777 or any other Orca please respond to this or one of the metaverse council threads. Your empire needs you, the metaverse needs you. Please don't stand on ceremony. We need you to stand up and be counted. Now.
