Sorry, in the meantime I was for other reasons unable top play PM. Now I tried it again with version 1.01.017. After some hours of play a CTD happened again. I tried three times to run a Quickplay, but observed CTDs out of the blue each time within five weeks/turns at maximum. I installed TPM via Stardock Central, currently on version 1.01.013. I'm running Win XP fully patched (without SP2). No instabilities with any other applications. File "debug.err" in TPM main directory shows following disturbing last lines: Debug Message: ******* GameStarted
