i have to agree with that. it can get really "cruel & unusual" over there from time to time. When i was seventeen, i had a big "circle-A" painted on my car, and i loved to get in fights, and break stuff over my amplifier. But i am older now, and it all seems a tad dumb, in retrospect. I too hold out hope for a "brighter" atmosphere over there....
kenray
i use the Tek theme, not just cuz i am biased, but because it loads like lightning....great work Alexandrie!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, this is a visual medium. would you download any piece of visual art sheerly by filename? would the word "Sputnik" express to you the beauty that is Treetogs work?
yeah, as i read Fern's homepage, he is just taking a break until september, not giving up his efforts or his site....
hehehe...he said "mastication"
To be honest cat, i wouldn't even have noticed it at DA. THe average user there tends to be between 9 adn 13 years ols, and it shows. I woudl never send my sisters, or any other juvenile to DA. now, my buddies in the 21-25 age group, yes... But here, at least as long as i have been coming here, it tends to be pretty mature, pretty peaceful, and wonderfully polite. until Coolplayer showed up, there were no skins for apps that i actually use here, but i came to chat
Crae, we have this thing about "putting on airs", y'know. We have to (at least) give the appearance of having these high moral standards. Or maybe its a fixation with "child-proofing" our country... so, no naked boobies on TV, no cusswords, no aads for ciggarettes, you have to use your seatbelt (as a matter of law) and to top it all off, we, as a country, illegalized one of Gods creations ( a plant called cannabis). Whether all this has made any diference is a
well, here's the naked heart of my beef: I have two littel sisters, ages 6 and 7. from tiem to tiem, i like ot send them links to stuff i am working on. Thanks God, to this date, i have not sent them any links to here, specifically. But i woudl like to. I would love to share my interest in this art with my loved ones, and hoepfully, get them into it. but obviously, i can't send them here. i mean, they have probably heard the word, but i really wouldn't want their mum peeki
i guess i am so old i think it shouldn't come to that...what a granny i am....
i won't even tell you where i saw it, but i saw a comment on a skin here, where a non-contributing "citizen" had bothered to take time to comment, and had used the "s" word in the comments....yeah, that "s" word, the one you can't say on TV. i totally respect everyones right to have an opinion and one of the best things about sites liek this one is getting to read other peopels reviews, positive or negative. however, there are an infinity of ways to express displeasure without
T, if, say, LOS had a cubset under their coolplayer section for "muslim" and no other subsets for religion, you can bet yoru bottom dollar that i would start a "meditation on favoritsm" over there. same goes if Deviant Art had a "Caucasian" section. or if skinbase had a "heterosexual" subset. I woudl need ot meditate on that every it as much as i need to meditate on this here. the subject of this thread is not religion, the subject of the thread is "Favori
doreen won't stay gone long..
and one more thing about us Christians here in america. we say "In God We Trust" God says "Thou Shalt Not Kill" God says, "Vengeance is mine" and today, we americans, in our wisdom and love, in our holiness and kindness, well, today we killed a man. federally. which means that each of us who vote, pay taxes and have social security numbers, each of us in a little way, held the sword and commited murder. are'nt we a funny sort? <
Well, I for one beleive that there is a God, an active, living Spirit that can affect your life. I alwasys tell my Scientifical friends to take a look at the "Big Bang" theory form one step back...they say the world was created in a big explosion...in order to have an explosion, you need material and energy. Where did the material and energy for the Big Bang come from. and this too: i can't beleive that the Almighty is just a "bean counter in the sky", running some giant ab
well, the issue of public prayer, adn genereal expressions of ones religious beleif actually extends outside the schoolyard. Schools are the easiest place to identify and realate to the issue, but there are other situations.... How must my Muslim friend feel when he is sworn in to a US Court? (in the US, to be sworn in to testify, you must place your hand on the CHristian Bible and pledge an oath). ............... Hilariously, as a Christian, i have also noti
T-man, thanks. and to all who commented here, thank you too. i would liek to re-iterate a point on public prayer that was previously mentioned. If you have it at all, you will have to have it for all. and tho you may think it a good idea for all people everywhere to hear you start with "Our Father, Who Art in Heaven", you must be smart enough to realize that, the second you get that, some other person will start up with "O Great and Low
"And by the same token, why should I have to be forced to accept others beliefs in their gods" Because the Lord Thy God has told you to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. Have soem respect for thefact that there are real actual human beings with beleifs different than your own. Accept that you should love them, and respect them and cherish them, even though you differ on such a fundamental level. Keep the section, but name it "Spiritual". DO you think, th
Check yer dictionary Tman: (american heritage dictionary*) eth·ic n. A set of principles of right conduct. A theory or a system of moral values: i beleive anyone with a system of good moral values would consider it a principal of "right conduct" not to force their beleiefs on anyone. i also beleive anyone with a system of good moral values would consider it a principal of "right conduct" to respect the beleifs of others, whose beleifs differ from on
But, see T-man, now you are "enforcing" that which you beleive on this website. WHich may be your option, but is, nonetheless, ethically wrong. Jesus's buddies often called him "Rabbi". Why? Cuz Jesus is a Jew, and a good Jew. Well respected by His folks in His time. So if you are to respect Jesus, you should at least put up a "Judaism" section... see what i mean?
snow...you rock...
firstly, don't get me wrong. as a practicing Nazerite, i would love it if i could show my Bible at teh QT Mart and get half off my cigarettes... Whilst browsing the coolplayer section, i notice a subset for "Christian" does this not invite the question, "If we subset for one religion, should we not subset for all?" why not a "Hindu" section, or a "Buddhist" section, or a "Jewish" seciton? Are we Christians so prevalent and artistically active that we deserv
surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself awayy, aaay, aaaaaay, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, aawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
none of this should come as a surprise ot anyone who has watched mom surf. hte vast majority of internet users have three sites they visit, one is a search page, the other is TV Guide, and the other is hobby-related. The goyim are the same old sheep they were in Abrahams day, and will be led to whichever NSYNC or Britney page they are led to. There's massive diversity on the radio, but what do 90% of the listeners actually listen to? "baby, bye, bye, bye..bye bye" hehe
yummy...now thats portal flavored goodness... (i love ya, Neik....)
