I've been playing the crap out of Political Machine v. 1.0 (I know, I know--there have been two updates since then, and a third one on the way--I told myself I wanted to play through 1.0 as thoroughly as possible before seeing what's in the newer versions). I've now beaten every Republican as every Democrat and vice versa. I also created a custom candidate and had him beat everybody with 500+ electoral votes. Then I got it in my head that I wanted my custom candidate to get a perfect

Finally won as Meteor. I'm not sure how many games I played, but finally pulled it off! I think it requires persistence and a little bit of luck to finally get it done. Won the electoral college 274-264. Lost the popular vote 66.46M to 86.06M. (I think that would set a US record for biggest popular vote deficit while still winning the election, even outdoing John Quincy Adams's 10.5% deficit!)

Hey all! Been trying (and failing) to win as Giant Meteor on the “Masochistic” (hardest) skill level. I found it relatively easy to win as Massive Comet, but I think that’s because there are fewer states to be concerned about as a Democrat. With the Republican Giant Meteor, there are too many states to worry about and I find myself stretched too thin as the Democratic candidate can simply attack the states where I’m weak. Has anybody found success as Giant Mete

Never mind! I won pretty easily in my second attempt as "Massive Comet"! The key difference in my campaign strategy was to fully eliminate all ads. Only give talks. That allowed me to keep the money flow going to buy operatives. Aside from that, my strategy was pretty vanilla. Go to blue states and some swing states, talking about local issues. That was sufficient for beating Trump on the "Masochistic" skill level.
Yes, though you kind of want to lay off the ideologies. They are universally hated.
Just to confirm: this is at the "masochistic" (hardest) difficulty setting? And against Trump? If so, I'd be curious to hear a blueprint of your overall strategy! I'll give it a try again later. I only tried once and I did indeed lay off of the ideologies--in fact, I didn't even touch them the entire game! I basical

Hey all! I'm curious if anybody's devised a winning strategy for "Massive Comet." I somehow got it in my head that I wanted to beat Trump as every single Democratic candidate--and, of course, it only counts if I play at the highest difficulty setting ("Masochistic"). I won as all of the human candidates and had only "Massive Comet" left. On my first attempt, I lost in a landslide: 386-152. It seems the only states I could pick up were liberal states who would rather vote for a
