The PR/Customer thing only applies if they are selling a product. Since they are not, it is completely within their right to not pander to the masses. The public can either accept it, and move on, or don't accept it and leave. I'm pretty sure they don't care what freeloading kids think of them or their mod; they're doing it for themselves, they just happen to be releasing the fruits of their labour to the public as well.

Fantastic, I had to set the affinity manually to make it work. I had considered the possibility of the dual core being the problem, but I have a program that supposedly sets affinity for programs automatically but it apparently does not work. Thanks for the help.

I've been having troubles lately with Altarian Prophecy freezing at random, sometimes several turns in, sometimes right when the game starts. I can't deduce the cause of the issue. The only differences in my computer from now and when I first bought it is that I have XP Service Pack 3, a dual core processor, and a Radeon 3850 instead of a 7500.

In the poll that they had, most wanted Altarians gone. Whether or not Stardock will go down that path remains to be seen.

Because flagships represent the best your fleet has to offer. This usually means the biggest ship since it would have the most weapons and thickest armor.

Yeah I find that amusing too. Just because we know about it doesn't mean it's not cheating. Also, we don't get access to those bonuses, so by your own logic it is in fact cheating.

Have you turned on CPU Intensive Algorithms for the AI? That should make a difference, otherwise ramping up difficulty level would be the way to go.

Umm... no. Terror Stars are not moving bonuses, they are planet destroying weapons. The AI will do everything it can to blow the living hell out of them. And it certainly does matter if it's cheesy. We have the metaverse, and if someone cheeses that it isn't fair. That, and exploits just aren't fun to play. If the Terror Stars work

It shouldn't matter if people think it's cheesy or not anyway. It's a single player game, not multiplayer. What one person does in their games is really no one elses business. If the concern is that they'll worm their way up the Metaverse using exploits, well the exploits will certainly trip some flags in the Metaverse that will consequently drop the score to zero. If Terror Stars are limited to being built upon military starbases, then that makes the age old tactic of culture bombing everyone e

It's also a good idea to have certain planets as "Capitals", be it Production, Research, or Economic. If you are fortuitous enough to nab a class 26 world around a purple star, you should make that your Manufacturing capital and have the associated structure as well as a crap load of factories. Have two or three farms on that world though, for the increased population will increase production and give you a huge army to work with when you build transports from that world. If you get another clas

That's pretty awesome. I've been wanting to be able to choose whether my opponents were evil or good like the first game, this is even better though. Environment types too? And fancy new treaties? I'm intrigued, and a crap load of new hulls and components to boot. I'm in silicon heaven.

I've never run out of money on cakewalk, so no unfortunately that thought had not occured to me. Far be it from me to expect players to know how to run an economy. Heck, even on my first game on GalCiv1 way back in the day, I've never had that problem on cakewalk.

They fall into obsolescence, and you can in fact upgrade core ships. I do it on regular basis to make up for certain deficiencies.

When you go to trade with them it plays a video of their face instead of just a picture. Unless you know how to edit bik files there's nothing you can do about it. Except maybe delete it, but that just might bring up an error warning and shut down the game.

I'd like the ability to make useless planets productive, at the very least as some sort of outpost to extend range. I don't remember if there's Terror Stars in the game, I've never progressed that far but those would be cool. Perhaps an ability to expand on that, like recreating the star and rebuilding to planets for your own use.
