I just want to confirm what was said earlier: It appears that if any part of your city is visible, it stops using the GPU. Scrolling so that the city is out of view and voila! GPU usage goes up again. Going to the cloth map also reactivates the GPU. The only time the GPU usage spikes up momentarily when the city is in view is when zooming in/out and the various LOD levels are activated, but then it goes back to software mode. I agree with you 100%, Karanic!!!! The alignment "tech" in Galciv 2 is very cheesy. It just doesn't feel right. I hope they can put in an option in the expansion pack to go back to the old way. You just reminded me why I stopped playing Galciv 2.
Actually, this particular tile had no visible water in it at all!
Looks like a cosmetic bug but in the colony management screen, the planet surface window displayed a land tile but the tile detail window in the lower left corner showed an ocean tile. I have a screen shot, but not sure how to attach here.
Sheriff, I had the same problem. Go to tools/register products and enter you serial number and then click register. Make sure you select Galciv in the application drop down and not Dregin.net. That should do the trick!
Does any one know if the AI explores the anomalies? Doesn't look like that in my current game. Thanks
