Hi! large galaxy/100 planets tops though unless your prepared to lend me a computer that can handle it. C'mon, my last huge was with all common, and it took my comp max 10 sec to complete a turn. By today's standard my comp is crap: P-III 1GHz, 900MB RAM, Radeon 8500LE 64MB. BR, Iztok </fon

Hi! Game 1.1 beta 4, masochistic AI. After invading korx's planets, I noticed they were upgrading embasy to embasy. After I canceled the upgrade, the only thing I could build on the original embasy was the Habitat improvement. BR, iztok
Hi! I'm currently in a 1.1 beta 4 masohistic game, huge uni, occasional everything. Playing as Thallans I get out with only 3, but good planets, AIs had from 2 (Drengin) to 9 (Yor), average 5-6. I can say the AI has such a focus on research I've never seen in any previous game. In the middle of the third year of the game Humans (7 planets, second or third) digged in mass-driver branch up to Gravitons III, and Yor (first by long shot) have tremendous focus on warfare tech. They are at the Ph
Hi! nice war story, some cool tactics you used there I'll have to try some of those myself. Thanks! IMO this department is lacking such a stuff, from which other players could get some new ideas. <
Hi! To answer your questions: 1) global 2) both 3) in game ver. 1.1 unused social production will be diverted to military, and unused military will be transfered back to pool. In game ver.1.0x unused social production will be charged, and lost 4) nope. You can only focus spending 5) pop only provides money and troops (and scores for metaverse) 6) set % effect, nothing else. 7) vague. The formula is complicated. AFAIK there'nothing you can do besides what y
Hi! there’s really no reason why it shouldn’t work just as well with production set to 0/100/0. I see a perfect reason why with 0% mil spending the points from social shouldn't transfer: I want better tech, but my ship(s) is already 99% produced. This way I can wait indefinitelly, your way I'd need to
Hi! For me the score doesn't matter. I play metaverse games to put some meat behind the words I post here. The only serious scoring system that I'd accept here (where direct duels aren't possible) would be a preset game with a set goal, and players would compete in who would achieve it faster. BR, Iztok
Hi! Sorry, doble post. Please check AAR forum BR, Iztok
Hi! I just finished a duel with Drengin in tiny universe. Main purpose was to test the new 1.1 beta AI. Game settings: tiny universe, all abundant, no tech trade, no minors, slow tech, blind exploration, masochistic AI, started at war and kept it so. My race was Yor with +30% econ and +70% growth, party Populists. I genned several universes to get proper position and a good HW with a +300% production tile and +100% morale tile (just
Hi! I'm drinking tea. Really, just the tea drinking nothing more, nothing less. If the plant you've made your tea with is called Canabis Sativa, then the text you wrote is fits. BR, Iztok
Hi! the "ship bonus" event adds to the attack and defense values of ships produced at that world. Not HP. It gives ONLY attack bonus to ships constructed there. No defense bonus whatsoever. I should know, have a "+52 ships" planet producing ships with 4-4-0 defenses, and those remain the same, a
Hi! i.e. it won't add missiles to a sihp that doesn't have missile. It won't add shields to a ship that doesn't have shields. I vote for. BR, Iztok
Hi! The ability to train spies as in MOO 3 and have them do specific jobs was a cool idea. The espionage in this game is a little too little. I see a big potential for complaints here. On higher AI levels they get bonuses, NOT only in economy. In my current masochistic game they have more than 100% bon
Hi! As it seems now it is mostly related to size of the universe (gigantic preferably) and the lenght of the game: the longer it lasts, the more score you get. 've read posts from two top players having games with more than one milion score by just pressing next turn several hundred times after they've practically won. BR, Iztok
Hi! I have had a few games where, torwards the end, I start getting a huge morale dent from the number of people on my homeworld The same effect, but cheaper, would be to destroy a farm. Less pop, more happines. BR, Iztok
Hi! I have conquered planets with Economic capitals and Technology capitals and now have several in my empire. Are their bonuses cumulative or are they redundant? Bonuses from those buildings are local for the planet, and they do work. You can check that with the Planet Detail window. And you currently
Hi! The problem is that the roll is done at the start of the battle and is kept for all of the battle no matter how many time you hit. Sorry, just looking at the battle report will show you you're wrong. Ships do separate rolls for each turn, and inflict different amount of damage. WRT MY sh
Hi! I have never seen a ship do zero damage to a target with zero defence. Maybe they should just post the relevant snippets of code. I go with the simple rule: weapons roll from 1 to max damage, defences roll from 0 to max. Enough for me, and in practice I've seen both low and high values happen in combat (2 lasers going full through 4 sh
Hi! how exactly does miniaturization work? It gives you more space on the hull. In medium hull I usually get enough space to mount 1.5 more weapons or defenses, so I need to research one-two more levels in two branches to get up to whole 2. BR, Iztok
Hi! I use traditional invasion every time, win or lose You should try MiniSoldiers. They cost some money, but the amount of damage they do is negligible. In all my invasions (should be over 100 now) I remember losing only two-three buildings. BR, Iztok
Hi! My opinion on the civ's military power: as it calculated now it doesn't reflect the real attack and defensive power. IMO it should be based on the relative combat value of the ships , and be calculated for each player against known designs of every other player. Let me explain with an example from my usual game. AI builds very early lots of "defenders" - those are ships with single beam weapon, that are sitting in orbit
Hi! Another thing that makes going for planets so good is that his fleets and starbases just disappear after all his planets are captured. I agree. I try to avoid taking out their armed/armored starbases, as they usualy inflict too much damage on my attackers. I need them for clearing defenders on pl
Hi! i believe i used the advanced troop container. You sure you loaded it with population from the planet where it was launched? You need to have pop (= troops) on board to invade. BR, Iztok
Hi! Class 26 from the start. I took it as the third of all planets. Now it's turn 170 and it has 6 factories, but still 5 tiles free, with NO TERRA done yet. Just can't build there fast enough. BR, Iztok
Hi! Program version v1.1 BETA-2A last updated on: Thu Mar 30 21:37:53 2006 Huge masochistic game with randomized intelligence, all AIs, all common, no trading, no minors, blind exploration. Planets of some AIs (Iconians, Korx?, Drath? - can't tell, Torians conquered it in FOW) overspecialized: Iconians had a planet class 13 with 4 farms and 5 entertainment centers, another one class 10 with 7 research centers (no tech. capit
