Hi!
My home world went from 12 billion to 1.25. What happened?
You should provide more data. But my guess is too much troops recruiting or lifting pop for new colonies.
...having very low approval rating.
With low pop approval should go up to 100% in no time, esp. on a HW with a morale bonus from Capital. You can also check what wiki has to say on appro

Hi!
much investment to divert for espionage
For Dread Lords you need to invest about 2.5k money to get an advanced level of espionage. Then you should drop spending for that race to 0, because you'll not get anything higher. Techs steals happen randomly after you have achieved the advanced level, and are very rare. IIRC I got them more from the second or the third race I got advaced espionage, and very rare from the first one. YMMW and again IIRC. It has
Hi!
What the heck?
Someone just started building a starbase in the grav well where you jumped from? What happened to your antimatter? BR, Iztok
Hi! If you didn't make an archive before upgrading to a new version, AFAIK you can't. Maybe developers can point you to an archieve of older versions. You can mail them to . BR, Iztok
Hi!
I would take the time to make my own maps if Galaxy Forge wasn't so damn tedious to use. No undo? No snap-to-grid? No thanks.
I used the map designer that comes with the game. I had to play quite a bit with its settings to get a grip of what does what. Could save some time if I'd read the manual first (you know, the un-famous RTFM ;) ). Anyaway, the map def is saved in the Galaxy folder as an editable text file, I've used that to change sta
Hi!
How to kill a vasari sb.
Hard. Lots of bombers (80+) from rear. If you want to down it really fast, some cap ships with their special abilities plus 500-points+ fleet of heavy ships from other side (preferably not front) . Any lights in its vicinity die too fast to be cost-effective. :( BR, Iztok
Hi!
what is the largest map anyone ever played
Last week I used my own map: single star, ~140 planets, at least 2/3 of them habitable, 4 teams of 2 players, all AI unfair researchers, me Advent. Reason for such a big map: I wanted to give AI enough "room" to develop good tech before we'd start serious wars. Reason for teams: AIs don't surrender, if their team mate is stil alive. When I ended playing after almost 10 hours of ga
Hi!
Solution -- don't be a wuss, and come play Sins in online multiplayer (aka the real Sins game) against live human opponents.
I watched some games of "pro" players. I really haven't got the impression they're that good... ... until I ran a small 20-planets all-normal game vs. one unfair AI, but with one limitation: WITHOUT PRESSING A PAUSE BUTTON. [e digicons]:omg:[/e] I was overwhelmed. Now I know whay they missed upgrading planets
Hi!
useless forever
Even de-cloaked they still detonate if you fly over them, so they need to be cleared first, so they still remain usfull as a time-buying device. BR, Iztok
Hi!
is there any viable way to destroy mines other than running a bunch of light frigates through?
Vs. AI, and after I cleared most structures and ships from the grav well, I just ran my 8 cap ships (all level 7+) over those homing mines, one "pocket" of ~20 mines at a time. They took damage only to shields, but the shield restoring ability of my Advent Mothership repaired them in no time. To attack through a heavily mined p
Hi! More hard/unfair Entrenchment AI flaws: * they put bounty on a "dropped" player. * they put bounty on me even when pirates are no more. * they don't reconfigure planets. I've pressed an AI in a dead pocket, and it has been "sitting" there for two hours without doing anything. When I checked why, it had there 4 fully developed planets, but no ship factory at all. They need to learn to scuttle one less needed structure to rebuild more important
Hi!
is it possible to eliminate wormholes from the random maps?
AFAIK no. You need to use Map designer to create your own random map(s) where you don't add wormholes as a "planet" type. "Random mix" doesn't include them.
Can these starbases that Ent. adds be built in uncolonizable spots like wormholes, astoroid belts, and magnetic clouds?
Yep. Great tool for makig real chooke points. BR, Iztok
Hi! Thanks for the tip! Even if it's a bit of a work-around it works. BR, Iztok
Hi! I'd like to jump an hour in my SP recorded game, since I don't have the patience to wait the game to finish the reply. Even at 8x speed it will take about 1 hour to get to the end. Can this be done? If not, does anyone know how can I make a recording of just the last minute of the game? BR, Iztok
Hi!
(Akkan colonization buff) the least would be a free extractor at lvl 1 already
I tried to mod that for Entrenchment (BuffTechCapitalColonize.entity), giving 1, 2 and 4 free extractors, but I can't make it work. Akkan correctly shows it will made 1 free extractor at first level, but when I colonize with it, there's none. Hardcoded ability? BR, Iztok
Hi!
what you'd imagine seeing in a $10 diplomacy oriented expansion for Sins.
Thanks for asking. I have some qute regular requests: - make diplomatic relations only possible after we meet each other. - I'd like to give missions to other players. - Partially completed missions give partial avards. Divide the bonus: 1/3 is avarded upon completition, and 2/3 is reserved for partial completition. Like: I have to destr
Hi!
the AI doesn't ever use the good upgrades on their starbases
It doesn't... against other AIs. Yesternight :) when I've been attacking the second strongest (hard Vasari) AI, I've fought very strong SBs with 1 and therafter two armor upgrades and at least level-1 weapon upgrade. I had to retreat TWICE before I managed to conquer that planet. Well, the first time I had only 2 cap's, 30 fregates and a few koshikos, and at second time&nb
Hi! AIs don't give each other missons, so their relations can't change, but IIRC they must have at least one enemy at all times. I also belive they have improved from the AIs in original game, as it seems to me they behave more "rationaly" about who to fight or not or who to ally to. Can't give a real proof, but for me it's easier to play multiple AIs in Entrenchment as it was in original Sins. BR, Iztok<
Hi!
All enemy craft would suicide themselves on any starbase we put in their path.
AI stands for Artificial Idiot. ;) It will not adapt. If you want to have fun, you need to do that. Just stop using more than one SB in any grav well and you should be OK. BR, Iztok
Hi! Did you also fix AI that puts bounty on a dropped AI player? Or AI giving me mission against a dropped AI player? Or AI giving bounty on me even when pirates' HW is conquered? BR, Iztok
Hi! There are quite some ways to get a planet: - conquer it, but you'll have to attack your ally first. - buy it, but for developed planet you'll need to pay insane amount of money (millions of BC) and/or tech. - culture-flip it. IMO in your case this would be the best solution. BR, Iztok
Hi! Might be the tactical zoom is defined in the following lines in Gameplay.constants > zoomDistanceLevel0ScalarForPlanets 1.5 > zoomDistanceLevel0ScalarForNonPlanets 5.0 > zoomDistanceLevel0 1000 > zoomDistanceLevel1 65000 > zoomDistanceLevel2 4000000 BR, Iztok
H!
Entrenchment/Gameinfo/Gameplay or Gameinfo/Gameplay (for vanilla)
Thank you! Seems the search function in WinXP doesn't work right, since I searched the entire GameInfo folder for the keyword(s) in files, but come up empty. BR, Iztok

Hi!
If all goes well, for $120 this PC will be just fine for a long time to come.
Yes, it will make all the usual jobs done, and likely also run most nowadays' games. Making one less comp to go to the junkyard, despite it still works, is also respectable. The main problem with those old comp's are spare parts. If anything "breaks", you could have quite a hard time to find that spare, or it will cost you more&
