My 2 cents : For each planet, unused military resources are used for this planet's social project, and vice-versa. If a planet has neither military or social projects, then convert that into cash.

As seen in the AAR : "Now we'll let Nike and McDonalds and Disney do the conquering for me." I like to see that kind of lucidity from overseas... A sad thing though...
that reminds me of someone...
yes, Jythier, you can use winamp's playlist - that's said in today's story on the bonus pack
STELLAR EVENTS there should be stellar events like : -BLACK HOLE : as you're moving a ship, it gets into a black hole - bye bye -WHITE FOUNTAIN : a variant of the former : your ship reappears at a totally different location (representing a shortcut in spacetime) NOTE : as it reappears, he could get some extra moves - representing the fact that his notion of time does not match the standard notion of time of the game. -X-RAY STORM : an unknown x-ray-emitti
Frogboy, I love this customization thing, it makes me remember of role-playing games... this adds a lot to the fun factor ! Just one question : once you've choosed your civilization's abilities, can you save them into a file like "MyCiv.cfg" so that next time you can directly load this config and play with the same civ ?
Paris, France
this is much more logical indeed... but is it still time to do it?
finally, there's no reason REFUGEES should happen only in the case of a mighty empire attacking a weak nation. In fact that should depend of the cultural strength of the civ being suffering from the war. If it's culturally weak, it should emit a lot of refugees. Note that the same could happen to YOU ! If you've got a weak culture and your citizens are suffering, they might want to flee ! I don't know how minor races should be handled in this respect. I don't know the
REFUGEES : this event should be more likely to happen when another (mighty empire) attacks a weak nation. Then there are a lot of refugees wanting to become citizens of your empire. Since I'm not a beta-tester, I don't know exactly how you represent it but to accept them would 1) increase your population 2) if you're GOOD it should : 2a) make your country momentarily politically less stable, make the populist party more popular (populists don't like
cooool !!! thank you !
when I buy GalCiv on the 26th, will I be able to download the bonus pack too ? Or will I have to pay an additionnal price ? That makes me think of another question : when will the bonus pack be available ?
early flash in the french gamer journal 'Joystick' in September saying 'it could perhaps be a concurrent for moo3'. Now it looks like it's the opposite...
/. has just posted a story on GalCiv ! See it here : http://slashdot.org This is thousands of visitors every hour !
this is good news littleboy ;)
Please do not translate the voices into french (eg, in the videos), voice translations are usually disappointing. Subtitles would be a far better solution. PS : it's really a pity that we won't have accentuated characters. I hope the coders can do something ? Also, I fully agree with Freya, a translation is useless. If GalCiv was to be played by young gamers, say under 13, it would have been a good thing. But the typical GalCiv player is probably mu older, or am I mistaken.<br
Er... I'm not sure I'm in a position to give counsels... nevertheless there are a few things many games don't do, and which could make them sell better... so the following may help. 1. Don't translate voices unless you have very good actors for every languages. The reason for this is that most of the times voices are much less good in foreign languages than in English. This can become irritating. I have a very bad remembering for example of the french voices in Alpha Centauri.
