Measured vs Dan'nath is balanced. The AI shoots its black holes well and even though I dodge their AOE still damages me. My AOE damages the Dan'nath too. I kill the Dan'nath about as often as it kills me. Measured vs Earthling Cruiser is impossible, as I described in my first post. Measured vs Menkmack is balanced. I kill the Menkmack about as often as it kills me. Paperwork has an AOE slightly larger than the b

The AI should learn to defeat the player tactic of keeping the planet between you and them so the AI goes straight for you and slams into the planet. The AI should not be so intimidated by my 2 Menkmack reinforcements that it goes and hides in the corner of the asteroid field while I stay on the opposite side of the arena where the AI cannot damage me. I am not going to play the Dan'nath vs the AI because I am too poor at aiming the black hole.</p
Slight bug: If you and the enemy crazy cyborg ship are on opposite sides of the planet, the AI fails to do a gravity whip and instead goes straight and slams into the planet. Then AI backs up and tries again. This is most obvious with Measured vs Scryve. The Measured can easily stay on the opposite side of the planet and make the AI Scryve hit the planet over and over (although hitting the planet only causes one crew of damage and only some of the time).<
Yeah I just confirmed with the most recent build that nukes target boarding parties, turrets, contagion, nearest Menkmack, and even Jeff. Nukes target whatever is closest. And the point defense laser targets them too, but does not kill them. The point defense laser only kills nukes and other projectiles like the Tywom blaster.
The MW missile would always be shooting at another ship, not incoming fighters or missiles because SCO doesn't work that way.
I'm pretty sure the Earthling Cruiser nuke actually does target Contagion, turrets, and boarding parties as of the previous update.
I don't need a fleet of one of every ship I'm doing fine with my fleet of just one ship vs an AI fleet with just one ship. Then once one or the other ships win I am able to change them.
A quest like that sounds cool. Are you sure there aren't fighters in SCO? The Plinthi Contagion is like a slow bomber craft. Since the Plinthi Contagion does not cost crew it has to be weaker than Kzer-Za fighters.
That makes sense. The Drenkend Carrier boarding parties are so slow the Earthling Cruiser doesn't need the MW missile. But the Earthling Cruiser does need the MW missile with the Plinthi Contagion because those are an actual threat. I'm not sure if the Tywom turrets are a threat. Maybe there could be two kinds of Earthling Cruiser? I like the standard one with the Nuke for 1 on 1 ship fights, but if there is a module you can put
Do we have a weapon that depletes the enemy's energy bar?
So the MW missile would be the Earthling cruiser's primary. What would be the secondary? It can't be the point defense laser, because the MW missile does the same thing. I think the Earthling Cruiser is just fine because the point defense laser does what your MW missile would do and the nuke is like launching a cruise missile to kill enemies far away to protect the mothership even better.
One problem with the "interdiction field" is if you want to hit the escape key and emergency hyperspace escape like in SC2 the interdiction field seems to make that impossible.
The Spaceship crafter needs a tab or filter for engines, because I cannot find engines to complete my outfitting.
Something is wrong with the camera because the planet surprises me. It's like the camera tethers to your two ships (the center of the view is the point between your two ships) and if you are doing the retrograde maneuver (eg. with the Earthling cruiser) there is almost no space for the camera to show up behind you and so a surprise planet can happen. This is only an issue with planets not the asteroid belt because the asteroid belt has less gravity so you have more time to react.<
Wow that's a large bounty.
Why they don't want to be found is probably because the Scryve Empire is so dangerous (they tried to blow up Earth after all) and also just like the Enigmas being very paranoid is part of their psychology from evolution. Too bad the Dan'Nath are already the secretive race I guess that's a problem with my idea.
Since we already have a machine race (the Synth) maybe the scavenger race doesn't have to be part or all machine. I was inspired by the Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell that had an alien race called The Enigmas. They used a quantum virus to erase their ships from enemy sensors (cloaking devices don't exist in that universe). They were so obsessed with secrecy that when their ships were significantly damaged they self-destructed. During communication
Don't we already have a machine race (the Synth)? The scavengers don't have to be a machine race.
If you slow down the Earth ship the Scryve start to win if they aim their laser right. I think that laser has even longer range than the nuke and right now if you fire the laser to be just in front of where the Earth ship is moving, the Earth ship cannot turn around in time. Slowing the Earth ship down just makes that worse. But maybe you could slow the nuke itself and not cause that problem. Except if the Earth Cruiser faces the Measu
The Commander is fine, except for her neck. Thank you for lore about why she looks so young.
The Measured vs the ship with the explosive barrels (Menkmack?) is broken. The barrels can be launched immediately once I close the distance with the Measured and always explode and one-shot the Measured ship before I can get into range for the Measured AOE. EDIT: Never mind I figured out that the Measured AOE is slightly larger than the barrel AOE (the barrel AOE might be perfectly sized because it fooled me when I just charged in without having my reverse d
Ok that's fine.
Are you even a real professor!!!
I'm a Masters student in Bioinformatics. Next year I will be working towards a PhD. I don't know if I want to go into academia (professor) or industry. I usually just call myself Hari_Seldon but that was taken.
If you are stuck with a ship slower than the enemy and they are running away, maybe you need a way to swap that ship for another in your arsenal. Hitting the escape key and it takes a while to hyperspace out that ship.
I was the Mowlings and the enemy AI Tywom kept running away and dropping turrets and I could not catch up. Jeff was too slow to catch the Tywom which was annoying.
Hi I'm Thomas. My family got me some educational games when I was young. When that stopped the only games left available to me were the free ones. In the 2000s I found Ur-Quan Masters and was blown away. Now that I am a Biology Masters student in New York City and have some money, I am exploring 4X and space games. I enjoyed SoaSE, GalCiv, and AotS but did not preorder them. I chose to preorder SCO because I know Stardock is so passionate about it
I vote for annotating the star map
