Then again, theres a reason why the DotA community has the stigma it has, and I have no issues with calling it as I see it. Like the World of Warcraft community, DotA is full of whiney and annoying people who view new members to their community as a plague that needs to be stopped or shunned. [quote who="Predicted"

In Impulse, go to the lightning Bolt and uncheck the box for "Show pre-release updates" or whatever it is that lets you download the Beta patches. Then verify your installation of Demigod and it will tell you there is an update available and 'Update' your version back to the last release.

This has happened to me as well. I turned off my computer for an hour or so, and when I came back I was able to log in again. I can only guess it's something to do with the server for Login names reacting badly to the crashes as it occured for me as well after a crash. Not much we can do to fix it from our end, I'm afraid.

If this issue wasn't neglected, I wouldn't be 'hijacking' the thread by bringing it up. The problem stems from the issue being neglected instead of being included in the OP of the Dev Journals in the first place, as it should be.[/quote] *Sigh* The Favour bug was caused by them moving all of the information across from one server to a m

Hahahahahahaha. That made my night. DotA has about as much depth as a page 3 underwear model. Using 10 out of 90 Heroes because the other 80 are pointless and analyisng animation sequences in order to rob people, including your team mates, of killing blows as an instrument to success is not depth.

DotA players are the Emos of the RTS Scene; they think they're all "non-conformists" and as such they view Demigod as the "mainstream" infringing on their little haven from the corporate controlled, sheep filled world. I wish my grass was a DotA player; and cut itself.

I reverted back to the last release version, and I was able to get past that screen again.

I reverted back to the last proper release version, and just played a game. Half of the people disconnected - nothing unusual there - but I was able to connect without too much trouble. Theres something in the Beta thats preventing my game from connecting at all... anything I can do to help the guys at Stardock nut out this problem?

The multiplayer system not working wouldn't be such an issue if the game wasn't entirely multiplayer focused. Instead of a component of a whole product not working, the key feature of the product isn't functional. This would be simillar to purchasing a brand new Car, only to find that the Engine doesn't work. The radio still works though, so you can pretend your driving with the tunes blaring until the mechanics get the car up and running. Personally, I think Brad's response was warra

Thats why we have the Zoom function. Zooming out is your mini-map. Zoom out, move your mouse cursor to where you want to see and Zoom in. It may take a little getting used to, but it's a hell of a lot better than the Mini-map system used by other games.

You should also note that Portforward.com does NOT have a guide for Demigod currently up - at least not one that I can find - and so the ports required to be forwarded are: UDP 6073 and UDP Range 6100-6200. Portforward.com also has a Port Checker program that will test if your ports are open.

Not everyone downloads the Beta patch - which is why your seeing a smaller amount of games. This isn't a problem with the patch, it's to be expected when they label something 'Beta'. I too am having difficulties with this patch, however Frogboy did mention that this patch could cause users more pain than good until the proper update is released on Thursday (Friday for us Australians). I made a thread about the Beta causing me issues and warned other users to stay away from it if their

Because regardless of how well designed something is, it's how it performs in the game that will determine how much it's played in the online environment, especially when the game is based around competitive play like Demigod. 90 Demigods all equally balanced in both 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 game environments while taking into consideration items and artifacts is a rather unrealistic expectation. 20 Demigods is fine, however if they don't believe that 20 Demigods are going to play 20 equall

All Elites are more recent generation Xbox 360s, and should be pretty much RroD free which is your only real issue. The first generation Xbox 360s were noisy little bastards (I have one) and the more recent ones are a lot quieter. I think you should be fine - as far as I know they don't designate 'Generation 1' or 'Generation 2' offically, it's a fan term for when they change the hardware over at the factory.

I downloaded the most recent Beta patch and anxiously jumped online hoping to see some kind of improvement. Brad mentioned that it wouldn't do anything if you didn't have the right ports forwarded. I've had them correctly forwarded for a while, so I downloaded away. Straight away I checked the custom games and saw several games up with titles like "Testing". 'Perfect' I thought. However, when attempting to connect ... the game just sits, happily telling me in the connection informatio
