Btw I've had lower class planets limit out at 100 billion as well. One game of mine I had 15 planets and 1.2 trillion population. That was a great game ;D I also agree with Gordeleth. Half the fun of the game is finding ways to increase your population without morale loss. It gives you a chance to form your planets the way you want them. Your population determines the planet's quality really ~SDC~
purefx
100 billion is the hardset limit for ANY planet as far as i can tell. I had a class 44 planet with 100 billion on it and 100 morale. ~SDC~
I've been thinking about how much I love this game. I've been thinking about the possibility of adding in an 'accelerated start' feature (yes, like MOO2) that would divvy up all inhabitable planets equally amongst all races. Kind of like a Quick Start. This would give some players the option of occasionally playing a game without worrying about mad colony rushes, and instead focus on the strategy of the game. Not that colonizing isn't fun either, but as an option I think this could be pretty
lmao Valamir. well put ~SDC~
The limit is 100 billion people. You will only get there if your planet class is high enough... otherwise your planet will just go up and down to a certain level depending on your morale ~SDC~
I think some of you should do some research before posting. This is the third time this waste of a topic has come up. ~SDC~
how about you guys take off all victory options and then military conquest is your only way... leave some enemy planets around and the game wont end that way... ~SDC~
olaf: i dont remember whether my repair skill was just high, but ships in orbit of planets seem to repair alot faster ~SDC~
I agree with vogar. Nothing wrong with multiple trade routes and it is really more risky than anything anyway. ~SDC~
I've seen it before on medium and small maps myself. However, it won't do it consistently for me. Athlon XP 1900+ 1 Gig DDR ATI Radeon 9700 Pro ~SDC~
yes. i've noticed that as well. good aligned AI's also declare war on weak minor races that have even JUST spawned on the game map for a colony grab. that's not something a 'good aligned' country like the US would do. they just usurp the power, not conquer. :D ~SDC~
ah yes i did forget about the attack being added. not to mention, attacks are based on rolls they aren't always what the number of the ships defense is. ~SDC~
Yes but those bonuses will show on the enemy when I click their ships. ~SDC~
Why is it that in the game im currently playing, a frigate with an attack of 8 will kill my combat transports with a defense of 12, whilst my battleships with an attack of 14 lose to that same AI's battleaxes with a defense of 7? ~SDC~
yea im pretty sure that's intentional... limit their bandwidth usage from newsgroups i suppose ~SDC~
I dont know for sure, but I can pretty much guarantee you that's a big negative. The AI will rape you dry in a trade nowadays :D ~SDC~
ITS THOSE SPOOKY SPACE MARINES! THEYRE SO SNEAKY ~SDC~
Well, despite the fact that this is like going to a star trek convention to ask people's opinion of star trek... I give it a whopping 9. with potential to be a 10 due to the wonderful support/mod capabilities/and future official additions. ~SDC~
#1 I use SDC more than I play the game :x #2 Hurray for SDC and the option you have given us all to test new updates and help before they become official patches #3 You are doing a wonderful job Frogboy and you have the patience of a monk nuff said ~SDC~
This may not be your problem, but I personally used to have a thing for "if it's there, build it". In this game you cannot build every improvement on every planet, even the ones that help morale. You just can't sustain that kind of expense without trade. Be choosy about what you build. Every morale improvement I built helped my economy as well except for entertainment network and harmony generator. After that, I wait for Stadium and Teleporters. There's a couple others as well that dont jus
And there have been numerous posts from the developer agreeing with me. Heh. I believe the developer. ~SDC~
but the AI does play by the same rules and restrictions. IN FACT, in all levels below bright, the AI has LESS than the human player. And only at genius does the AI even have any slight advantages... however it still has to abide by the same mechanics as the human. ~SDC~
HAHAHA you wore a GalCiv shirt to the mall. That's good shit. Personally I wouldn't have the balls. ~SDC~
There are a LOT of different minor races. I have noticed the the Alexians and Carinoids are very frequent and they seem to start with most games. ~SDC~
