Tommy Lee Jones - Under Seige
Nice pick up. I didn't expect anyone to pick that up. Under Seige, one of Seagals last decent movies.
I hear it all the time that religion has nothing to do with politics. Yet there is some truth to that. I do feel that as Believers in Yeshua (Jesus) that there should be character changes and that our character changes should benefit people. If someone is a Believer as well we have a bond already.

The old cliche - Rome was not built in a day. In this day of high speed internet, jet travel, microwaves and instant communication, people expect things to be done NOW (just like Veruca Salt). But somethings - especially movements - still take time.
Patience is a virtue, and it is something that far too many lack in todays instant gratification culture that we live in. I also think the cliche "Good things come to those who wait" applies here as well. And hon

Very well said and I agree wholeheartedly. There is a solution to this two-party problem that we have, it's just a matter of the people getting the cojones to do something about it. The solution is quite simple in the short term: vote against all incumbents and for any candidate that you can actually agree with on most issues (third party candidates are prefered when applicable). Obviously the long term goal is to create a big enough shift in power in each and ever

Call it what you want but we are in a virtual two party system. Liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat it doesn't matter, in general when the party takes a stance on the issue that is the stance that is echoed by just about everyone in that party. Also we have a system that makes it extremely difficult for anyone outside of the two major parties to get on a ballot, the result is that most ballots consist of almost all Democrats and Republicans. So in essense we do h

Very well stated Dr. Guy. The issue that the dems don't seem to get is that they aren't running against Bush or Palin but McCain. This entire election (since the primaries ended) they have been doing their best to label McCain as Bush III so that they can run against Bush as he isn't very liked at the moment. Now they have yet another Strawman to run against in Palin. It would be nice if the Dems would actually attempt to run against McCain for a change, if they aren't

Simply tell them that they don't have to pay taxes on the money they own and that should be more than enough payment for them.

They already make WAY more than the average person!I wish I could just VOTE myself a pay raise right now! Then once I did that take three monthish off on top of all that personal time t

If either of the two major parties win both the White House and a filibuster-proof majority in congress we as a country are screwed. It happened during the Bush administration, and it would happen with a democratic administration if they are given the chance.
What I am curious is, considering it is said that any American born citizen can be President of the US, does this mean that any young person who got pregnant underage, was not married and may or may not marry the baby's daddy not qualified to be President of the US? Also, the parents of these children are also not qualified? So people with some mistakes are excluded from becoming Presidents? Hmmm, does this make Obama perfect? After all, he is already seen as a God, a savior, the US la

As long as the protest is peaceful that it shouldn't matter what they are saying be it advocating anarchy, the KKK, etc. Once the protest becomes violent every one of the protesters should be arrested and detained for at least 24 hours to determine if any one individual is more culpable than the others. Violent protests should never be tolerated.
No, they are a major part of it. Over 80% of malpractice suits are frivolous. based on a false presumption that doctors are gods.
And this is exactly why OBGYN malpractice insurance is so high. The slightest birth defect is blamed on the OBGYN rather than genetics or any number of factors involved during gestation. Yes there are some birth defects that are directly caused by the doctor screwing up, but they are few and far between.

I've got a better idea. Since the president is almost guaranteed to pull in millions from book deals, speaking engagements, advertising, etc after his/her term is over why do they need a pension at all? Why not just pay them for their time in office and then be done with it all together. Hell do the same for the members of congress too, why do they need to get the congressional medical plan for the rest of their lives out of office, or their rather nice pension plan? O

We need to have some serious healthcare reform, but having a floor for charges doesn't make sense. No matter what you charge for the service the basic costs of the medical equipment and doctor's training, malpractice insurance, etc isn't going to go down anytime soon. What would really help is if judges would throw out frivilous lawsuits, part of the reason our doctors charge so much is to pay for their malpractice insurance because of sue-happy patients who blame the doctors for

Look at the last 20 years Bush 1 made government bigger, Clinton shrunk it(to Thunderous republican applause in the state of the unions), and Bush 2 has increased it greater than any other president in history. One is this democrats really do like their lies. My guess is that Hillary was guaranteed a spot in Obama's cabinet if he is elected which potentially gives her more power than a Senator (depending on the position) and no matter what happens the speech she gave (which I didn't watch or read either) positions her to be the next Democratic nominee for President in either 2012 or 2016. As for folks who are so upset by Hillary not getting the nomination that they are thinking about voting for McCain I merely say that they should do what
