They caused the housing boom. They caused the banks to lend money to overly risky clients.I disagree - Congress did it, not the Fed. The fed does not pass laws and encourage people. The Fed did abet the situation by loosening the money supply too much, but even that would not have caused it. It took the idiots in DC to do that.
I'm not saying that congress didn't play a part. The OP points out very valid points in how congress has let us dow

If you don't like the two major party candidates, I don't either mind you, check out the third party and independent candidates. Specifically the big ones: Bob Barr (Lib), Ralph Nader (Ind), Cynthia McKinney (Green), and Chuck Baldwin (Con). They are all better candidates simply by the fact that they aren't Democrates or Republicans. If you are more of a conservative stick with Bob Barr or Chuck Balwin, if you are more on the liberal side go with Nader or McKinn

And don't forget about the role that Federal Reserve has played in all of this. They caused the housing boom. They caused the banks to lend money to overly risky clients. They are the reason that it collapsed and their solution was to lower interest rates over and over again, and pump gobs of money into the system. That in turn drove the value of the dollar into the tank, and since oil is priced in US dollars it drove the price of oil up. Add that to the increase

I too would love to see some third party support. I think it would make the game extremely challenging. For one thing it would be very difficult to raise money or get invites to tv shows. But maybe there would be an increase in the amount of "good" chance events happening to you. And for all the nay-sayers that claim third parties aren't viable candidates, that simply isn't true. The problem is in how the system and the media are set up to favor to two major parties. If the system

erathoniel is correct here. Inflation is caused by the value of whatever the standard monetary unit is (in the US it's dollars), interest rates (primarily the one the central bank sets, if a central bank exists), and to a lesser extent the tax rate. In the US because of the housing market crumbling the Federal Reserve (a private bank, NOT a government entity) lowered interest rates and pumps gobs of money into the system. This in turn has caused the value of the US dollar

Reply to Obama in Democrat

Primarily it is for two reasons, his name "Barack Hussein Obama" which is a very muslim name, and the fact that his father is muslim. What's sad is that there is still a fair amount of people out there who still believe he is Muslim, 15% of the people who voted in the WV primary voted against Obama because they believed he was Muslim. Personally I don't think that it should matter one way or another what religion the candidate is, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan, Aethist whate

I know this would require an aweful amount of work, but maybe something to consider for the 2012 version of the game: Independent Candidates. I would much prefer to pick an independent and attempt to get them elected (major challenge) vs. picking a Dem or Repub. Just a thought.
