I just upgraded to Thunderbird 45, running Windows 8.1 and WindowBlinds 8.13. Even if WindowBlinds is set to ignore Thunderbird, the titlebar in Thunderbird does not show the minimize, restore, and close buttons at the top right corner when the window is maximized. When the window is not maximized, you can get the buttons by double clicking the title bar but the buttons overlap the calendar and tasks button. Anyone else seeing this?

Hi I am running the following: Windows 8.1 with all latest updates WindowBlinds version 8.12 I just upgraded Mozilla Thunderbird to version 38.1.0. The titlebar is now disappearing unless I run my mouse pointer over the top right close, minimize, restore buttons or I task switch to another window and then back to Thunderbird. If I run the mouse over top the top right window control button
It didn't start happening until Chrome 43. Chrome 42 was fine.
Wow. Okay. It must be something on my computer. Find that hard to believe. But, okay.
Still can't believe no one else is reporting this. Why just me?
Philly, I am sure that a large percentage of WB users also use Chrome. Can I be the only one?
What gets me is that no one else is reporting this, at least on the forums.
If this is true, then why the heck does it work fine if WB is not skinning it?
Okay, I have narrowed it down a bit more. If I allow WB to skin Chrome and turn off Chrome's use of hardware acceleration, it works fine. But it can't be the fault of the video cards or drivers because it is doing it on two different video cards and drivers from two different manufacturers.
I doubt it has anything to do with the video card. My laptop has both Intel HD4600 graphics and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M. I could choose to run the graphics for Google Chrome under either card. They both had issues when WindowBlinds is skinning Chrome (the Nvidia showed the driver crashing when it happened; so, I know the computer was using a different graphics card). They both ran fine when WindowBlinds does not skin Chrome.
Okay, it's a problem between GC and WB.
DrJBHL, thanks for the assist. But, it still doesn't fix the problem. Configuring WindowBlinds to not skin Chrome does fix it. Still think it's a WindowBlinds problem.
Hi Okay, three hours to update to Windows 8.1 Update 1, plus all the updates for the laptop to run 8.1 properly, plus all the updates from Microsoft since 8.1 was released. And no joy. Windows 8.1 with Update 1 + Chrome 43 + Flash + WindowBlinds 8.12... Still = Flash Problems
Let me ask, if I upgrade to Windows 8.1, should I uninstall WindowBlinds, Start8, and Modern Mix before upgrading and then reinstall them after the upgrade?
It has to do with my Wi-Fi card on the laptop. The newer driver is horrible (dropped connections, slow connections). So I have to use a driver that I can revert back to that is a very old driver provided by Microsoft in Windows 8.0 that is not available if you upgrade to Windows 8.1.
Hi With all the views, I am surprised no one can confirm this. Is it just my computer?
Since upgrading to Google Chrome 43, I have had this irritating problem with SOME Flash content making the interior of the Google Chrome window flash black and the Flash content not to work correctly. Mostly this affected videos that autoplay on Facebook (they would play with no video but the audio would play); but, I have seen other Flash issues too. I really thought it was a problem with the Flash included in this version of Chrome. I have looked on the net trying to find
That's what I was thinking too LightStar. Thanks for the confirmation. Oh well. I am trying to adapt the Diamond theme to make Windows 8 look as close to Windows 7 as possible. I guess that modification will have to be left out. Thank you.
Hi, In a regular Windows 7 installation, when an item on the left side in the Start Menu is highlighted, it has a highlight around the item plus a highlight box around the arrow if that item has a jump list on the right side. There is a line that separates the two. Here is a picture of what I mean: <img src="http://helpdeskgeek.com/wp-content/pictures/2010/09/00_sample_jump_list_on_start_menu_thumb.png" alt="Start Menu Jump List Highlight" width="556
Oh, I really didn't see an "announcement" that it was released. So, I didn't know. I can confirm that Thunderbird's titlebar is now "broken" with the latest beta.
Any word on when the new beta will be available? Thank you.
Thank you Neil.
Neil, can you give us any insight on the review process for a pending update? Is there a point where a beta is released? Sometimes a beta is released and sometimes there isn't a beta release. I have often wondered why. Thanks.
Island Dog, I stated that I was wrong about that. But, SkinStudio DOES allow you to change the font size of text on icons. I have seen different themes have different font sizes on text of icons. For example, the themes that come with WindowBlinds have different font sizes on text for icons. The Concept theme has text size on fonts a lot smaller than say Diamond. Okay, where can I change that font size for text for icons? T
No one can point me in the right direction?
