Etrius, there was a major event in which the Drengins found a Precursor artifact. It caused them to gain power very rapidly.

I love this game, but I simply cannot get into the campaigns. I start playing because I am interested in the story, but halfway through the first or second mission I start to get bored. I'm sure the campaign is fantastic, really. It's just that I tend to prefer the longer, drawn-out games over the quick & dirty campaign maps. In my gigantic, very slow research games I have been known to lovingly spend 5 hours or more designing a ship, whereas in the campaign I just pick a hull and sl
Also, the views Kinjiru is expressing in this thread completely clash with my own beliefs. Frogboy I am deeply offended by what he is saying and demand an apology from you. Now I realize that you wealthy game developers don't care about their customers, and that to you I am only another $40 to fill up your swimming pool of money. Good day to you, sir!
I agree with these guys. That Spiderman 3 review deeply offended me.
This is a speech made by Michael Crichton. A little long, but definitely worth the read: http://www.crichton-official.com/speeches/speeches_quote04.html His main point is that science is becoming more political than scientific.
I think us conservatives hate Ann Coulter more than liberals. She and her fanbase are a really strange, really hardcore bunch.

Ohh, that explains why my posts weren't going through. I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot of duplicate posts today.
It should be an option in the diplomacy dialogue.
Another idea I just had: Give pirates a base of operations. Take a random unhabitable planet in the galaxy and make it the pirate base. It should be fairly well-defended, and pirates will continue to spring up throughout the galaxy until it is dealt with.
I agree with others. Pirates should be somewhat weaker (or less numerous), and stick to attacking trade ships, and there should be an additional economic penalty to any civilization with pirate fleets within their borders. Pirates should hurt your economy, not your military.
"I really should upgrade all the defenders to defender 7, but kind of lazy about doing that work, its a pain to upgrade all individually which I did with all hte defenders built until I stopped at defender 4." There is an "upgrade all ships of this class" option when you are upgrading one of your ships. It's not very noticeable, but it's there.
