I agree that this game is a little bit on the lazy side. How can you seriously say 'There aren't enough hours in a day' to get new features in!? It has been 4 years since the last game, and as far as I can tell, you only changed A) The graphics to make them fully 3D B) The political capital system (which is broken, since beyond endorsements it's not quite so useful..) C) Added a goofy scenario or two. It's essentially the same as

Luck is obviously realistic, but it needs to be minimized in strategy games. To the post who said "Generals wish they could save/reload' --- please note that generals had some control over their forces. there is just randomness in galciv 2 to decide if you have a 5 to 1 or a 24 to 2 advantage. Absurd.
Some hands of poker are 100% luck. No matter how well you play them, you can lose. This is ok for a hand of a game that takes a couple minutes, but not for an entire gaming session than can drag on for hours..its just frustrating to be screwed for that long.
er...doesn't that seem like a bit too much micromanagement? that's not strategy, that's just annoying. tinkering with sliders to max out tech production to that degree is ridiculous
Also - what's so hard about an auto-launch feature? How is that not in the game? Why was it removed from GC I ?
I remember reading about the Dark Avatar feature where the game compiles a story as you progress through normal games. At the end, it was supposed to present your game to you in the form of a narrative. Is this still in the expansion? Haven't seen it mentioned recently.
