SOunds like my High school days (and I am no spring chicken), but not the ones of the 80s or 90s. Ah, the idealism of youth.
lol to be fair, I went to high school in Texas, we were generally void of many of the benefits of all the other adolescents outside of the bible belt. I'm not that young anymore I would think (to my dismay I suppose) I'm a junior in college after all.
That would hit low on any proggression and most likely help nothing but impead our economy
What on Earth would having Hillary Clinton as a Supreme Court Justice (a very intelligent person see above...) have to do with the economy or societal progression?
Does this mean you oppose the 'elected' Obama?
lol if I'm understanding you correctly then yes I do oppose the elected Obama, only because I was a Hillary supporter though ;p
I'll let Bill Maher (Favorite Comedian) make all points necessary for Ronald Reagan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWGcFddzf9A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCCqpu2RE9g
Also can't wait to download some new candidates when Stardock releases some more. Arnold? FDR?
Just for the record I would love FDR... I would play him all the time lol :CONGRAT:
This issue is inflammatory; more importantly though it is resolved by law and the majority of Americans' support on the issue. The main argument against ALL abortions seems to be one merely of disputes of morality rather of science or reason. There are always exceptions to the rule (eg. would you consider a woman bearing a child with tay sachs or down syndrome 'evil' if they sought an abortion?) The issue of morality is in itself flawed, especially if there are still puritanical
Any news on the new patch? I'm assuming you guys are fixing a lot more than the custom candidate issues if it's taking this long?
You consider only your side's judges "competent", while the other ones are "dangerous ideologists"Off course, there are exceptions that reach to both sides, but they are just too rare.
Well I would hope that in the case of the judges their partisan allegiances do not interfere with their rationale, both in strict and loose interpretations of the constitution. That's why I still admire Chief Justice Roberts despite leaning on the conservative side of the spectrum; he does
but still I must agree abortions should be kept before the third trimester, it is basically murder after that point. Titan if you believe the above statement then surely you would agree that obama furthers a culture of death since Mr. "Obama voted against a bill that would protect a baby's life if that child is born during a "late term partial birth abortion" procedure."Your own statements are contradictory... Which is it.
Contradicting? No, I agree that abortions should
Let me guess, you're against stem cell research as well? I liked Horton Hears a Who as much as the next guy, but telling me a ball of cells = "a person is a person no matter how small" is scientifically inaccurate, any grad student with a microscope will tell you that. Life begins at fertilization eh? Well I hope you and your blastula live happily ever after. Any freshman biology book will tell you that (mind you I'm a history major) the developments in the first trimester comprise of
lol they didn't include Huckabee, Kucinich, Dodd or Thompson either.
Check with any medical doctor and you'll find that they've determined that life begins at fertilization. Yup, at fertilization a unique human life begins.
Something tells me its not any medical doctor that would tell me as much as any pro-life medical doctor haha. But like I said before (which you so kindly chose to disregard :P) we can dissect the science as well as the abstract/morality of it all day, but when it comes down to it women will seek abortions and we as a so
@ TiTaNsFaN690: My point exactly.
lol... maybe Ross Perot can run as well then to make it fair :p
Yeah I mean, socialized medicine only works with more quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in every other modernized country, why would it work for us? But hey, personally I love the spot we're in right now, right in front of Slovenia! WooHoo you better watch out Costa Rica we're coming after you! Maybe we can use our sick who cant pay their medical bills as a replacement for oil and gas? Talk about the perfect renewable resource! ...Universal Healthcare is not the e
The first two on your list are fine for me. As for my firewall, i'm not sure why it would be blocking impulse specifically without warning me like it usually does, unless I need to open up some specific ports on my router for it?
Eh, Scalia is a very intelligent man I'll give you that, but I've never been very partial to justices who practice such strict constructionalism.
Quite frankly we need Jurists that know and understand the law, not vote because of the way they "feel".
I agree with that part though; Despite the way it was founded, even the supreme court has fallen prey to partisan politics. I also don't settle too well with the whole "appointed for life" thing: i don't think t
I must agree abortions should be kept before the third trimester, it is basically murder after that point. What's your reasoning here? The baby in the womb isn't "alive" before the third trimester and so it isn't murder then?
Alive is a relative term wouldn't you say? I don't consider minor brainstem activity as "alive" personally in the first and and second trimesters, but by the time the baby has significant sensory input (third trimester) I do feel it is developed
Hillary running as independent would ruin the chances of the Democrats attaining the White House in 08, so why would she do that? She loves her party and her country, and is more than accomplished enough to put aside the misfortunes she endured in the primary to support the Democrats in 08. Who knows, she may be named VP if Obama knows whats good for him :p
Eh abortions are fine and I usually find ignorance to blame for a large portion of people in the U.S. still being pro-life... but still I must agree abortions should be kept before the third trimester, it is basically murder after that point.
Yeah, I wasn't having any problems at first but I've been crashing at random to the desktop at least once per game lately, looking forward to your update.
I don't know about you, but I'd much rather have a liberal leaning, intelligent and all-around experienced individual like Hillary Clinton than those conservative morons that 'elected' Bush, as well as stripped youth rights down to nothing in a broken public school system. Justice Stevens, Ginsberg and to some extent Chief Justice Roberts are the only respectable (competent) judges on that court, the rest are remnants of old political ideologies that have done more harm than good to Am
Hi guys, I seem to have a problem with Impulse: Every time it starts up i get the message at the bottom left corner saying "Downloading Impulse Update - Connecting..." only it never connects. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Yeah I'm surprised they don't have Huckabee, yet they have George Washington as a Republican despite him not having a party affiliation. Also they have Jefferson as a Democrat, even though the modern day democratic party is more tied to that of Andrew Jackson's democratic party and he's not included in the game. So to summarize, a list of president's I'd love to see: Andrew Jackson, Mike Huckabee, Franklin Roosevelt, and since we have other founding fathers John Adams as well.
just beat Washington in the campaign on painful with my custom character (even with the bug) lol... tough and fun AND hit a high score (Danny Roberts). Oh and I was drinking 7up.
One of the reasons we limited the points to 100, is because you if you are not a honest person you could just go through the issues and make yourself 100% for everything that everyone supports, and 0 on anything that is more evenly split. This would give you a big advantage in the late game and kill game balance entirely. By limiting the issue points you can establish a platform to start from, and by using speeches, ads, and appearing on TV shows, you can build that platform into a tower.
Yeah I agree the number should be upped substantially. While I can see how there might be a potential balancing issue giving unlimited points, 100 is far too few to set up a proper platform. I hope the devs fix this is a patch soon.
