I'm using WB 8.06. WB 8.12 while better than its predecessor still was slow to respond to the Chrome save function on my setup. WB 8.06 works well with everything I use (at least as far as I know). The Chrome save function shows zero delay with 8.06 for me, so until a better release comes along it is my go to version.
Thanks guys. If I can do a totally clean install and am confident my apps work on Win 10, free is always nice. I'll be watching to see how this unfolds. I'm in no hurry. I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this or not. But am I the only one who thinks installing a new OS over an old OS is just downright sloppy computer maintenance? And to that point isn't it a tad silly to install a new OS over programs that may or may not be compatible with the new OS? Thanks guys for working on this. The delay for the save file box on a download with Chrome 42 opens significantly faster with this version compared to WB 8.10, but it still lags quite a bit compared to WB 8.06. Could be a function of other things I have running, but passing on that feedback.
I installed WB 8.06 over 8.10 last night and everything seems to working fine again. I didn't have any of the title bar issues others had with 8.06 so the need for me to upgrade was questionable from the get go. I had trouble with 8.09 and now this issue with 8.10. Neil - are you saying that the beta 8.11 version addresses this issue too or just the final 8.11 or 8.11a release? Rather than a restore any reason installing WB 8.06 over 8.10 wouldn't work? It requires older files to overwrite newer files, which I assume will occur, but I could be wrong. I still have WB 8.06. I had no issues with it. Other than this, I have no issues with WB 8.10 either, but admittedly this one is annoying. P.S. I know I can uninstall and re-install but that burns up activations and I don't want to be stuck waiting
I see the same thing with Chrome. Thank you. I thought it was a due to the latest Chrome update and didn't connect it to WB at all. If Support says anything that helps or indicates a solution is being worked on, it would be great if folks who learn anything post updates here.
There's been enough views on this thread that maybe one or two of you may be following the responses due to a similar interest. I made the switch this weekend to Pop Peeper. There is a new version, version 4.0.1 that I fully recommend over version 3.8.1. Version 4.0.1 was released earlier this year. I have the same issue, however, it doesn't happen every time. I estimate about one in five start-ups I have to reapply the skin. When it's reapplied, it creates a small file named .WBO in the Doucuments/Stardock/WindowBlinds/WBO folder. Windowblinds service is running in the background.

These games work great in the browser based DOSBox emulator. 25 years ago I played all the old Sierra adventure games and was ecstatic to test this site out. Primary issue is one can't save the games - at least I couldn't do it. That pretty much limits one to the shootem up or card games.
Did the WB program icon change too in the start menu? Or just the tray icon? Do you have IconPacakger installed? Sometimes when I change iconpackager themes, I find the icon associations change inapproriately. If you right click the WB program icon in the start menu, and browse to appropriate folder wheere the WB program is located you can re-associate WB with the proper icon. I suspect that will change the tray icon too, though you mig

Hmmm .... I just updated to WB 8.09 and now I am unable to open My Computer or my file manager Directory Opus. I can open Windows Explorer. If I set the WB theme to Windows Aero, I can open My Computer and Directory. I just can't open them with anyother theme. Very odd. I downloaded WB 8.09 twice to make sure I didn't have a corrupt d/l. I'd happily pay more for a skin - $20, even $25, just give me a chance to trial it for 15 minutes to see if I like it. I realize that's not a very realistic request, but like it or not, not having the opportunity to run a theme through a few paces is a barrier to selling product - at least to this consumer.
