American politics is interesting, British politics is boring, French politics is always interesting because it's such a divided nation, but apart from that you're choosing between watching paint dry, and watching grass grow. The only problem is when people say 'you should vote for X or Y' as opposed to simply addressing certain issues that they stand for.

He was referring to Russell Brand. Yes you shouldn't take him too seriously (Brand, not Dr Guy :D) but that was just a stupid thing to do and my point is that people trust/listen to celebrities increasingly and Brand might be an idiot, might have simply been idiotic looking for headlines, but there are some idiotic voters who are going to listen to him. While it's true you shouldn't underestimate how intelligent some American voters are, you also shouldn't underestimate just how stupid others

Yes but a lot of Christians believe in X because of their religion, and the liberal reaction is often 'ZOMG you stupid idiots believings in a GOD o_0!' Whether you like it or not, in a country which is so strongly religious as America, political dialogue is always going to be 'messed up' by religion because a religious belief almost always comes above a political preference.

"share the wealth" You're living in the country that invented 'The American Dream' and prides itself on freedom (including freedom from being punished for doing well). Laissez faire doesn't come into it, the whole point in America is you don't mess with people's earnings just because you haven't thought up a way to make that much money yourself. Liberals and some (dare I say it) American socialists have a problem with realising America is not a ce

That's highly subjective and I don't think stealing drugs from a charity would earn you more than half a year in jail, let alone 14 years. If stealing drugs lands you 14 years in jail, how about some toss-pot who drove on the wrong side road at twice the legal speed and smashed my dads' skull in and took away his sight? If you want to crusade, try to crusade on actual miscarriages of justice, instead of trying pathetic smears on somebody who went through a hard time.

Multi-party systems and two-party systems are both dangerous. The underlying factor is 'brand loyalty.' In countries which have a history of stability because they can accommodate all types of people, there is very little 'brand loyalty' where people are so stuck in their beliefs, not in issues, but a political party, that they will vote X Y or Z no matter what. This is the issue to worry about, not how many parties there are - though one or two extra parties can help, because it does

That just highlights that Democrats want a European America, not an America founded on the constitution. All patriots take note and vote for the right candidate - Euroica, Obama. -United States of America, McCain ;)

P.S. I know I didn't express myself too well there, but my overall point is that the educated elite (as opposed to the cultural elite/born elite) are the only ones who are qualified to make some decisions. Sure the average Joe should be able to decide what he does most of the time, but some things are fairly blatantly not being chosen correctly. There is such a fuzzy line between what could be construed as an icorrect decision and what is definitely one, but dangerous foods etc. are statistic
Do you think the average person is too stupid to do the right thing?
That's a misleading question, the average person does do the right thing, but there's a big difference between believing the average person will do what's right and the average person will be able to run a country which involves understanding of several very complicated problems, balancing them all at once while balancing the books (which Bush has failed in doing, meaning the next Pres w

Even there were 600,000 deaths, (given that this fact is as reliable as the ones for Hussain's reign), there are still less than in Hussain's reign. In his reign, they were all Shi'ites who opposed the government, now they're random civilians who the terrorists use as shields, or who are randomly caught in a bombing. People should remember many of the civilian deaths are from the same pirates and organised-criminals who had to be payed off during Hussain's reign. The co

In my own opinion, the Earth is certainly warming up, when the orbital cycle should be encouraging a cooling effect, but that's hardly the doomsday people predict. If the earth got too messed up, then gases in the sea-beds would be released (like in the Bermuda Triangle at the moment) and what would result is the heating would rocket, which is exactly what happened with the dinosaurs. This would throw the earth so out of whack that it would encourage the densest and most tropical (and ironica

The point stands, though. Especially given the deficit in America, there are many difficulties in running the U.S. which aren't shared by running a relatively healthy company (especially smaller ones).

The problem isn't Labour unions in general, just the oligopoly that seems to have largely risen in America. When there are many smaller unions and more specialised unions, it works better because it secures workers' rights, while not being powerful enough to play in matters they have no business in. The problem is that it's the norm now, so it's harder for people to leave them than not. Conservatives should break away :P (I know, unrealistic, easier said than done etc.)
