Must be a nice fantasy world you're living in there! Having listened to fox news broadcasts+ones by the BBC on the same issue a few times the chasm in reporting standards was so huge it was more funny than shocking.
Nobody can really claim the BBC and FOXNews are in the same league. Even taking a look at FOX's sister-channel SkyNews shows a huge gulf between FOX and itself. The simple answer is that FOX doesn't try to formalise i

I don't see anything whatsoever wrong with that video. It is a reminder of what Islamic Terrorists' objectives are, and a reminder that 9/11 wasn't an inside-job to allow a war in an oil-rich country. Insinuations that there was an inside-job are sick in every way and the people who instigate them are besmerching the memory of the victims.

lol, that's true. But if this election has taught us anything, it's that the whole story is very rarely digested. :) The status is chicago is such that only heavy policing will even begin to clamp down on these gangs, and even then it would take a long time. Democrats in Chicago aren't exactly fighting corruption, either, are they? Unlike the Governor of Alaska :P

If you were willing to really put money in policing, and arms were illegal, you could do something about guys running around with a gun in their pocket. You can't when guns are legal. It all depends on how you're willing to tackle it. In general, gun control is ridiculous for America given their constitution, but places like Chicago are a Democrat propogandists wet dream.

Can we expect an overhaul of the advertising system (as I think has been discussed elsewhere) on TPM08, or will this be more likely to be added to a TPM12 game?

9 Replies 12,090 Views

Chicago is the kind of example Democrats should be using for gun-control. Frankly, there is no way to keep American principles (principals?) and solve the crime problems in Chicago.
So they disrupt and crash a party they had no right in attending and then brazenly have the gall to put up signs for peace on the way out after not leaving on their own accord? Hypocrisy. I didn't watch the DNC. Did that happen there? Did you see the Republicans smashing car windows and wreaking all sorts of havoc outside the building as we're seeing the Dems doing this week? Peace? You've got to be kidding me.&nbs

Being an inexperienced vice-president isn't that terrible really. People say because McCain can get mellanoma sometimes and because he's 72 that he could die at any moment. But realistically, look at it. His mother is 92 (97?) and while he has injuries from 'nam, he's hardly unfit. The chances are pretty good that Palin will have time enough to get in the swing of it even if the worst case scenario occurs, and even if she doesn't, I think she has a much more sensible head on her shoulders tha

I don't think it's realistic to say that Democrats believe everybody should be paying to help those without high enough living standards. They believe the rich people who lived the American dream and are now profiting from it should help those who are just beginning on the American Dream. Some of the views, such as social security etc. Are very important for a first world country in my view, but the idea of having a Universal Healthcare (and stopping immigration to/from Mexico for tha

I've got to say, being a college student at the moment, I find it hard to balance working, studying, and having a social life. This doesn't make me think 'well everybody else should have to experience that problem' it makes me think 'I hope nobody else does have to' Having said that, it's not up to a citizen who didn't get the opportunity 20 years ago and is struggling on a low-income to pay the way of someone now. That's who will end up paying for it. That's who always

Isn't politics wonderful?
Indeed, and Democrats can't act innocent to fund-raising lies, soundbytes and malicious smear-campaigning either. Palin is worrying though. She is a very good candidate but has a few too many rough edges that, when coupled with her inexperience, result in silly errors like her statement. Palin is

I thought he did surprisingly well, although I agree with you, LynnFromOhio, that O'Reilly showed him up. The problem is, with easily over half of the media (and virtually all of the papers) leaning significantly toward Democrats, anything but a complete destruction of Obama by O'Reilly will be spun to ignore the umms, errs, and 'well I believed in X, but Y worked, except Y shouldn't have worked so was still wrong' nonesense statements. I'm Khamul89 and I approve the above link XD It's a very interesting take on the situation, and one people should take seriously. The way Russia is portrayed there, however, is like Boxer the horse from Animal Farm - much too innocent a portrayal.

True Russia signed a ceasefire and flouted it, but this is bloody mindedness because the war was started by Georgia who were sitting at the table with the breakaway regions talking about peace and then sneak-attacked at night. I don't care who you are, you don't sneak-attack targets right inside civilian settlements with uncontrolled fire (i.e. Mortars) while you're at the peace table. It's so easy for the liberals to downplay this, though, since only Republicans watch FOXNews. Either way, if enough independents watch the speeches and find out the facts for themselves, they'll see Palin is twice the candidate Obama is (well, unless you support murdering babies and leaving Iraqis to die after America screwed their lives up).

Yeah, below is a link to the full text of the speech incase you're interested :) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7597261.stm I'm relieved that Palin is a good speaker. I downloaded her gubernational debate from 2006 and she seemed good, but could get battered down sometimes by condescending old men full of hot air (I guess that test is yet to come). The bit about her family goes on slightly too long for my taste, but the rest was certainly great.

He just didn't seem to carry the crowd to me. He was making his own points, and i'm sure the (perfectly valid) point about Europe would inspire... well... Americans, but as a European it just made me think "well hang on, that's not entirely true and is a sweeping generalisation which should include the note of incompetent, inexperienced European leaders." Apart from that, his speech was very good technically, but he just didn't seem to emphasize the points to sound inspiring for me an

Giuliani is a very good orator - twice the orator Obama is because, unlike Obama, he can back his eloquence up with fact. I thought Huckabee was disappointing considering he could have been the Republican pick, but I guess it just goes to show what a good pick McCain is.
