Thanks for the answers everyone! And thanks to CariElf for reassuring me I'll get my epic-sized maps.

My guess from the games I have played is that there will be no more than about 100-300 stars in a game with the abundant and tightly clustered settings Okay, just a stupid question here: How does adjusting the cluster/density settings affect the number of stars in the game? Wouldn't that just affect how far apart the stars are from each

Just how big *is* the Gigantic map, anyway? I hope it has at least 100 star systems (I'd prefer it had more like200-300, but I don't want to sound greedy). I'm not going to feel like I'm running a galactic empire if I have only 5-6 systems with 15-20 planets.

Most of the games I played for months on end had MP in it to keep it fresh and more interesting. I got tired once I figured out how to beat GC1 on maso. You could apply the same principals and 95% of time win it. BORING!!! No matter how much content was added it was still apply same things and hit turn button. I think fights are going to remain to the death. That would kind of suck if it's true. If my admiral can see that he's clearly losing the battle, it would be nice if he could withdraw the fleet while he still had ships left. I'd like it if when a battle was about to begin, we at least had the option of letting our admiral know whether h

Awesome, Draginol. It'll be great if culture is easier to grasp this time around, as I felt like I never truly got a hand on culture in GalCiv. I'm particularly excited to hear about the fleet battles screen, however. I can live with combat being controlled by the AI, but I at least wanted to watch my ships duking it out. You mentioned the fleet management system: How is it actually going to work, and what's the inter

I have another question in relation to this topic: Will ships in GalCiv 2 have a higher "survivability" rating, thus making retreat a viable option? For that matter, will ships even be able to retreat? In other words, since combat is automated, will I still have a fleet left even if I lose, or will it be completely destroyed?

Nice, Brad! From the "Starship Defense" screen, I can see GalCiv2 is retaining its predecessor's wry sense of humor. I also really like the planetary screens, both from a visual and UI perspective.

e going care what happens to it (and therefore follow it's progress over the course of the game) whether your fleet is made up of 6 ships or 600.
