Most people find them annoying. I don't mind them if they are short, sweet, and appropriate for the skin. All in all I'd rather not have them.

Forgot this...pretty much any topic is welcome here...within reason...just use common sense.
I've been using it since .70 came out running XP and haven't had any problems at all. Much improved over .65...no major improvements, just much more stable and refined. Haven't tried .71 that was released today, looks like the only major new feature is group chat which I doubt I'd ever use. Not a whole lot of skins that are totally compatible with .70 and up yet, but there are some really good ones. Even the default skin is very nice, much better than the old default.
I've been all over TGT and every other "stylexp" site for the past few months and have never seen anything about StylesXP being shareware, Only Stylebuilder. Granted, they never out and out said it was freeware, but they've let everyone believe that it would be free for months now. They have right to charge for their "program" if they choose, just don't let everyobe believe it's going to be free when it's not. There have been several threads on several boards where discussion of StylesXP have
Some comments regarding this from one of the developers at another board http://www.themexp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1770#1770

No, it's not a part of ODNT, but it's offered to subscribers at a discount. See the newsgroups for Stardock's reasons why.
http://www.ceruleanstudios.com should answer most, if not all of your questions.
I have the same problem...not sure why. Anyways....what you need to do is right click on the download link and select 'save target as', pick where you want to save it to, then you're good to go.
Unless there is some kind of filter or a flag in the description for a skin, I think it's a good idea to have a seperate section. I know that you can use the XP taskbar/start panel on any skin, but I'd still rather have a fully unified WB skin that skins everything. Thus, I really want to know which skins are optimized for XP before I bother downloading them.
Pretty much all the skin sites are doing that now. The WinXP Skin section here is for WB3, the regular Windowblinds section has skins that do not have the ability to skin the XP taskbar and start menu panel a la WB3. deviantART has done the same thing.
I'm probably way off base here and if I am so be it. I've been a user of skins and frequenter of skin sites for about three years now. I've only been actively posting and making minor contributions for about the past year, but am pretty familiar with all the players/thinkers on both sides of this issue (Brad, Shog, JC, treetog, alex, jier, 10c, jesh). It's always seemed to me that whenever these nazi, evil or moneygrubber issues come up that it's petty jealousy. Most of these people came int
Thanks for the follow up Boxxi...I thought that may have been the case, but the way things have been lately you never know.
Boxxi, that analogy may be a bit insulting to some freeware authors, as there are some freeware apps that are just as good as payware equivalents.
You should probably charge for it....if you don't it'll be viewed by that free beer crowd as a token attempt to please them by making a free app. I can just hear it now. "Oh....correction, you DO have one free application...a pocket pc app. Thanks for your contribution to the community Brad." You can bet that's what they'll say.
Is pocketblinds going to stay free? I heard at one point it was going to stop being free once 1.0 was released. Is that still the plan?
seen not nearly enough of these light hearted threads lately...thanks folks

That is exactly what my point was when I posted there. http://www.customize.org/forum/984 It's just not my scene there. Either the admins actually are children, or they behave as if they are. Either way, I'm out. Pretty damn sad considering the legacy of Custo.
I forgot the link to the thread http://www.themexp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=344
I found another of alexandrie's skins (XP Copper) on ThemeXP.org....notified the admins....took forever to hear back but finally did....he took the theme down for now he says...but sounds like he may reconsider as he's not sure since it's a port if it constitutes copyright violation...he doesn't seem to be very familiar with this process and all involved....maybe someone a little more well versed in this sort of thing could talk to him to avoid future problems? Thanks!
It took me forever to d/l it but well worth the wait. However.....I truly hope that subsequent suites won't be more than $10, as that's about the max I could see paying for this sort of thing, though I will say that there aren't suites that I'd pay for besides pixtudio....well maybe if dangeruss put out a new suite
He still has a screenshot posted at DA saying it's charcoal recolored http://www.deviantart.com/deviation.php?id=103143 so I guess that settles it. Reported it to the admins there http://forum.deviantart.com/113470
Good point paxx....didn't think about that.
I don't have XP Charcoal installed anymore and don't want to reinstall WB3 to check this out, so could someone else? There's a WB3 skin @ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation.php?id=106281 that looks to me like it's just a recolored XP Charcoal. I asked him about it and he said it's totally different, but I could swear he had a screenshot posted here called XP Blue and said it was just Charcoal recolored...but now it's gone. I think he tried to up the skin here last night...it was listed for a
