This is pretty odd considering how much brad talked about smartbuttons being one of the greater advances in 3.x
davad70
funny stuff dangeruss That was such a popular skin when you first did it that I'm sure people would love to see it updated.
Never use vertical taskbar, rarely use smartbuttons when skins have them. A "neat" feature, just not real useful for me personally.
Yes, looks like you're right, although it's a very poor quality rip. Does that make it even more offensive?
Between skinning and browsing skin sites..I'd say around 4-5 hours a day. Unfortunately I have to work, otherwise it would probably be 10-12.
How about some wallpapers to match my skins for your next request adni?
That adni guy is alright afterall. That was really nice adni!
Dunno...but this may be of some help. https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboardid.asp?id=30039
You can find a lot of information regarding this at http://www.themexp.org and http://www.neowin.net
Great posts guys. I truly believe that the source of the discontent has very little to do with Stardock/Brad personally. It's much closer to what hamster wrote about shoggot not being in control. It may be that things would have turned out differently in this latest issue if his demands were met about changing the rules. But then again, he would have probably just tried to wrest more control. It seems things always have to be on his terms, and if they are not, he lies in wait to fin
I faced a similar dilemma, since I too consider this site my home. I ended up going with LOS because even though I've never been real active there, the people have always seemes great and have given me some good feedback on my skins. The new site, velocityart seems very nice also. Let us all know if you need any help with your skin Emily.
a little more detail about what you're trying to do please
You and all your Stardock cronies will award me all the money, which i will then return to you frogboy, that's how. Stop playing naive.
I've yet to hear a valid argument supporting the theory that judges will be biased based on knowing who the author is. Anyways....it's irrelevant. it's Stardock's money to give away and their decision to make. Brad has clearly stated on the olympics board that this is not open to debate. Therefore, if you don't like the way the rules are set up, don't participate.
shoggot - I believe we were only referring to the fact that he's excelled in these areas with his previous skins. Nothing as sinister as you're thinking. But then it seems you have a knack for seeing the sinister side of most anything. Oops...guess i should watch what i say since you're a judge. Oh, what am i saying? I'm sure you'll be totally impartial, just as the other judges will be.
woo hoo! 3 new treetog skins! having this competition is worth it, if for nothing more than that to me.
damn! so much for winning fastest skin, with greeenreaper in the mix
Thanks mark
Griffin...can I send you the file for a skin I'm working on? Haven't done much with the XP stuff yet, mostly just the windows/buttons. I'd like to get it right before I move on to the rest of it.
Thanks for the comments griffin...pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I hadn't thought about the background bmp's because I never use them. I thought that if I did not define any in the UIS then it would just use the solid colors that I did define in the UIS. What are you referring to when you talk about "positioning of things" though?
Because Display properties wasn't the interface used to change skins, I believe.
I don't know why alexandrie couldn't have told all of us here how it is done, but thanks paxx
It does not skin display properties to protect the user from a bad skin. It would be very difficult for you to change skins if you were to apply a skin that was messed up and made the display properties unusable. If you wish to forgo this protection, add the following line to your wb.ini file, which is in your windows directory....SkinDisplay=1
