Not that I intended to get Vista anyways, but the prices are ridiculous. I'd like to know how Microsoft Justifies the price increase for the 'Ultimate' version, mayhapes it has a beefier version of Solitare... Kidding obviously, but in all reality the difference between microsofts 'Pro' and 'Home' OSes aren't incredibly significant. Further more the name 'Ultimate' doesn't give me the impression that its filled with 'power tools', networking utilities, and such, but more so its going to include

Here's the thing, I don't completely disagree with original post. I'd have to agree that skinning has seemed to lost a certain flair, and polished edge that it once had. However, thing is, long ago, when customizing was younger, it was also easier. There was less to skin. Skinning is way too large of a time investment anymore for your average hobbiest. So the bulk of works seem to come from people who make their living from customizing, or from people who are new to the community. I,

"HOw's that for a fanboy?" Not too shabby. Though MSN messenger is not nearly as popular as AIM, or even ICQ back in its peak. No counter to the image editing software I see... And as someone else mentioned, look at IE, how many people would actually use or even have IE if it wasn't included in the windows OS. And I wasn't trying to flame, you made yourself out as one of those who blindly follow MS simply because it's the most mainstream, an

Wow... hey settle down MS fanboy... If MS "can and will out do ANY 3rd party" then how come they've never been able to establish an image editing program in the market despite countless attempts? And why is it that their messenger program is barely used by well... anyone. Oh, and why is it that so few bussinesses actually use the Windows built in networking and servers. Let's not act like MS is all powerful, or even very good at what they d

They shouldn't really add much customization support, fact is even if they did some third party would come out with an alternative or something to tweak it. Look at all the programs out their now to replace built in features as it. And honestly... most basic computer users don't even have a graspe of changing their wallpaper.

Bring Em On, There's Nothing More I'd Enjoy More Than Beating Paul Boyer In An Icon Competion, And Make No Mistake About It, I Would Beat Him ... After All, How Can It Be Called The GUI Championships Without The Best Of The Best Competing. Fact Is, We Can't View Them Any Differently Than We Would The SkinsFactory, Or Others Who Make An Income Off Of Skinning

Anyone who is going to pay for an iPod nano can surely afford the covers the will surely be released in the next month or so. I don't think it matter what a screen like that is made of, eventually it will get trashed, I have plenty of cell phone to attest to that.

A few days ago I got an IM from someone about Dementaecon. Anyhow, this conversation made me finally get around to fixing the icon package. There were serveral icons that for some strange reason were black silhouettes at 128x128. Anyhow, this made me take notice to how long ago I released Dementaecon. That in combination with this person's very flattering word

Between DesktopX and ObjectBar, there is no reason it can't replace the explorer shell. I don't run desktop X, but I assume it doesn't need explorer shell running... [Message Edited]

Heh, I need 100 some icons, actually closer to 200 as different icons for different size, colored. Not to mention the 16x16 icons, but those are fairly easy... Picture Dementaecon... but being so much better the old verison is a joke... As towards the WB... picture something you've never seen before. Throw an excess of detail on that. Then piece it together at 5 times the size of the final. And then do a whole lot of drugs... and you'll just starting grasping what is to be... [Mess

I've never seen the point of programs like Desktop X, Rainleander, Samurize, etc... Not because I don't think they have a purpose per sey, I mean who doesn't want 10 different programs that can display processor usage or take memos... er anyhow... My main thing is their location, which is on the desktop obviously. From personal experience, and observations of colleagues from work, school, or where ever: I can say that many, probably most, people haven't seen or made use of their desktop in years

Awhile ago I started a holiday suite... I worked on it slowly because I thought I had al the time in the world, it seems that time is very quickly coming to an end now. I'm about 20% done, I figure if I work my ass off I'll be about 60% done around the time I wanted it released... ( note 20% completion of one of my skins is quite a bit more than a typical skin). Anyhow sort of at a crossroad, should I try even harder to finish, hold it over to next year (would be incredibly polished by this time

In general I use ObjectMedia, but it can only play about 75% of my MP3s. So when I'm listening to the ones it can't play I'm completely lost. WinAmp and Sonique randomly decide at times to use 60% of my processor. I can't stand MediaPlayer's interface at all, their whole playlist system and whatnot is idiotic. I've tried so many of the obscure players such as PlayNak, which would be well and fine if it supported drop and drag on the play list, or hell any way to add multiple MP3s to a playlist w
