I wad sitting at the kitchen table with some clients of mine yesterday, a WW II Vet and his wife, when the subject of this election came up (Ack... I hate discussing politics with clients, it's a great way to ruin a relationship). One is supporting George W. the other John Kerry. The three of us agreed that we weren't entirely thrilled supporting either Candidate. During our conversation I asked them if either of them ever remembered having to make a t

Now, back to Moore. Both Columbine and Farenheit are mixtures, but a key ingredient in both is information that the average American does not know about recent American history. The vast majority of our voters know next to nothing about our country's past involvement with Iraq and Iran, or our other foriegn military actions since

We are not talking about stored components but scrap metal parts transferred by individual Iraqis to get cash for metal Now there is a huge assumption, presented as a fact. Also, the engines look like they are completely intact, hardly "scrap" metal. It is pretty clear by your presentatio

I assume you're familiar with PNAC, which has as one of its primary objectives the overthrow of Iraq The Iraq War Resolution (October 10, 2002) stated in no uncertain terms it is the policy of the US to overthrow Saddam (passed 77 - 23 in the Senate). What's the point? Apparently a super majority of our

Actually, see Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward. Based on interviews given to Bob Woodward by President Bush. Hilarious. Why doesn't Edwards just get one of those plastic Elvis wigs it would save time, money AND the environment. I'm willing to give 3 to 1 odds that Edwards takes longer in make up than Elvira.

This is an example of why I trend away from newpapers. The preponderance of articles conveniently LEAVE OUT the fact that the allegations are from 2002.

CrispE The James Tobin you speak of in the article (which is not the Yale professor, Nobel Prize winner) did come up, but mostly under the same AP article. However, I did find another article (WMUR channel 9) that had additional info to the one you posted (it looks like the AP article left out some information that could be considered contextually important). I also have a background in stats and agree. (Wow! 2 Statisticians look at data and come to the same conclusion, hehehe.) The thing is, in states that will decide by less than 2% of the vote, a couple of thousand "influenced" to vote or not vote might be the difference. That's why the issue is so important.

I'll spare you all the litany of articles (a couple of examples for balance). I don't remember this kind of intimidation and violence in the years I've followed politics (about 30 yrs.) and it is definitely occuring on both sides (it does appear there is more violence from one side however, either that, or one side is doing a better job of making it public). There was only one time I can remember where violence exceeded this and it wasn't for a major

Citizen T B sounds to me like the Bushites lied to the public and did it for osmething not in the document, oil. That is certainly logical - oil. Guess that's why the cost of a barrel of oil is skyrocketing and Iraqi oil production is down well below pre-war levels. Maybe you should try alt.conspi
