During the time that Hussein was in power, there was not terrorism in Iraq. Hussein was a bad, bad man, but to say he conspired with terrorists is stupid. He wouldn't allow people in his country who are not under his command to gain such power; that would threaten his position. Was he a bad man, yes! Did he promote terrorism, no!!! He's a cunning man and he will not create threats to his own power knowingly.

I sometimes hear people saying that terrorists hope that Kerry will win. THIS IS ABSURD. They want a religious extremist to win so that their image of Americans as barbarians will be shared by the people they are trying to recruit as terrorists. George Bush is that religious extremist. He may be able to fight terrorism in the short term, but to prevent it from returning, he must not invoke local anger at the US. That only makes things worse.
thank God the democrats may win the senate... I never thought about it before, but they just may!
all you Bush supporters just don't get it! Bush doesn't like America. he likes power. i would vote for anyone but Bush!
i don't think that Kerry intended to have the "world test" used when we are truly in danger, just in situations like Iraq. We could have gotten rid of Hussein with a lot less bloodshed had we had international support.
If Bush isn't good at thinking on his feet, maybe he shouldn't be president of the United States. This is especially true when he takes random action (like the invasion of Iraq) without adequate planning.
how can you say Kerry is a flip-flopper. He clearly has a set mind at plan. he said it himself: there's a right way to disarm Hussein and a wrong way. the right way is to put international pressures on him; the wrong way is to get more than 1000 Americans and a few thousand Iraqis killed.
I don't like either candidate. For lack of choice, I will go with Kerry. Bush will blow up our country if he gets the chance. For all who don't agree, go to http://www.johnkerryisadouchebagbutimvotingforhimanyway.com/
Honestly guys, the agreement that regulated the debates was 32 pages long. They enforced it without mercy. Do you honestly think someone could cheat that easily? I'm sure he got it checked by the people at the debate. Let's not keep smearing for smearing's sake
Honestly, even if you think that Kerry is a terrible person, how can you let that influence your vote? It's not like you will have to go on a date with him or anything. To me, it is more important to have a president that works for our security than one that is likable. About that, the Bush campaign tries to make Kerry look like a flip-flopper, but I think Kerry made it quite clear: it's better to admit when you are wrong than let people die f
Bush lost Florida and thereby the election in 2000, but he is still officially labeled the president. Guess he can thank the supreme court for that. I wonder if the same will happen this year.
dammit bush sucks. he's in an alliance with all these polluters and they are flourishing under his "corporate welfare" programs (that by some mystery manage to end up only in the hands of his campaign supporters).
Kerry doesn't support gay rights as much as i would want him to. Obviously, he doesn't support the constitutional ammendment to ban same-sex marriages, but he still opposes the idea of anything more than a civil union. He's better than Bush on the area, but not significantly.
Conservative philosophy doesn't make sense. If they want the government to stay out of their pockets, how can they feel the liberty to enter into a more sacred aspect of a person's life--their morals? How can they believe they have the right to tell someone who to marry, whether they want to have a child or not, whether they want to use death as a means to escape the pain of a terminal disease etc? It is contradictory and doesn't make sense
We may be the strongest country on earth, but we are by far the only one. Our international interests cannot be served if we ignore the rest of the world. Its very easy to thing that we can get along without the rest of the world. In fact, there is only one thing that's easier, and that's loosing international support. The truth is, everyone on earth deserves protection of their liberties, not as Americans, but as people. We can't help solve humanitari
I'm just astonished that they didn't catch him until the plain landed on US shores. What would have heppened if he were a real terrorist? I guess we would have just contended with the fact that he made a "crash landing" in Washington. I doubt a real terrorsit would heed the diversion orders. So much for a more secure United States! Thanks a lot, Bush.
I think that when the Bush camp calls Kerry a "flip-flopper," they are truly calling him "one who is not afraid to admit he is wrong." So what if Kerry changed his mind about Iraq. I prefer a leader that does not invade a country simply because he doesn't want to change his mind. It is infinately better to have a leader who admits when he is wrong and works to rights things, especially if national security is at stake.
I think that Kerry's plan is the best idea. We obviously cannot withdraw from Iraq (which I don't think Kerry will do), but we have to make things better. Kerry was, from the start, in favor of greater collaboration with our allies, something Bush ignored and now he wishes he hadn't. Kerry has a solid military record. He would understand the needs of soldiers and would work to better reconstruct Iraq with better military and civilian planning. Bush
In the war against terror, I feel that Bush has negleted terrorists second in their deadliness only to Al-Qaeda. These are the Palestinian terrorists fighting against Israel. Israel is our closest ally and it is our duty to help defend it. Though we do give Israel significant amounts of money, which makes me proud of the US, we do not give it enough military or diplomatic support. For example, our embassy is located in Tel Aviv, because we do not recog
