If a group of six caucasian people would have done the exact some thing and been kicked off the plane, nobody would have called it "racial profiling." It isn't racist to remove dangerous people from a plane. It is racist to say that Muslims who behave this way should be allowed to remain on the plane, while whites behaving the exact same way should be kicked off. Hmm... kicking certain people off flights because they're of a certain race (white) and not kicking other people off of flights

Proof of this is that we are paying down the deficit two or three years ahead of schedule. Bush started his term with the greatest surplus in the history of any nation. He turned that into the greatest deficit any nation has ever seen and continued to break that record every year. Now he's reducing the deficit back to what would have been
That is a funny joke. I don't see why you have to use offensive terminology...
Yes, there are bad Liberals out there, but there are also bad Conservatives. In spite of being a Liberal, I try very hard not to do any of the things you listed, and I mostly succeed (though I confess I may have accidently spilled Kool-aid on one or two carpets). Just because you don't like a political ideology doesn't mean that everyone who possesses it does every bad thing imaginable. I don't think that Conservatives are bad people, just that the
I'm a big fan of responding the original message after a lot of reponses, and responses to those responses.... and so on. So I'm just going to say that I can understand EmperorofIceCream's apathy at seeing people die, for it is the same apathy that I'm sure Americans felt upon seeing Israelis, Russians, Spaniards, Indonesians and many more killed in such attacks. The important lesson to draw from this is (a) that there are still people out the
Our legal philosophy concerning corporations is "perpetual life," which means it lives until it goes bankrupt (so essentially, it can live forever). The crimes a corporation committed 140 years ago are still relevent today, and so long as the property of its owners and managers isn't taken away (which it cannot be, by law), you're only punishing the corporation. It's somewhat of a difficult approach to comprehend, but it takes back the money that was e
First, what bothers me is that you base the whole concept of a speedy and fair trial on a singe case. Kar was given a speedy release (though I must confess I don't know the circumstances of his trial), but we know that many hundreds of others aren't (unless Amnesty International, the world's most repespected human rights organization, is lying). Also, why do we pay such great attention to such relatively insignificant things? More than 100,000
With regard to the original message, I'm a liberal and prowd of it. Though some people who call themselves liberals want to take away individual rights, I don't think that parents who do not allow their children to be inspected by Child Protection Services should be allowed to keep them, for the sake of the child. Parents can raise their children in any manner they see fit, on the stipulation that society can be assured that no abuse is taking place ag
I don't know what to think about this issue. All I know is that Bush doesn't do as he preaches... that's the only thing I can decipher from this, and that's enough to convince me that either his preachings or his actions have to be wrong.
The only reason people own guns is to kill. Even if you don't consider hunting as killing, is it really so important to you that you be able to hunt that you are willing to risk people's lives for it? Doesn't sound like compassionate conservativism to me. Owning a gun is not a right, just like owning cocaine is not a right--they're both dangerous and they both do nothing but hurt people.
Catholics kick butt! I don't like the idea of voting based off of one issue, though.
Alright, I have a few things to say about the article. First, your first sentence is gramatically incorrect. The question: "What is kerry motivated by?" ends a clause with a preposition, which is not allowed in English. Secondly, I am a very religious individual. This does not mean, however, that I would force my religious views onto someone else. Bush does that and that makes me very angry. Third, I believe that Kerry's focu
I am completely opposed to legalizing murder. I am not, however, opposed to keeping abortions legal.
I respect what you are doing, but why on earth would you do this for Bush? Not only is he going to win the state anyways, but he's also a major jerk. It seems to me that you are doing this to convince yourself that you have some sort of effect on the political system (that's why you are posting this here for us to see rather than beeing content with merely doing it). Plus, you need a little work on your math... 1,700 more people with 9 days to go??? I
I'm not sure I would give FL and WI to Bush just yet. All of the polls that I have seen for those two states have a margin of error such that Kerry may win by 7% or lose by 9%. I'm sure that we are all in for a big surprise on election day, not just in Iowa and Ohio. The important thing for Kerry supporters is to go vote, because without a strong base, it will be hard for Kerry to win the election... very hard.
Can't forget Colorado's voting initiative #36. This would split up Colorado's electoral votes according to popular vote. If it passes, Kerry will pick up four (or if he wins Colorado five) electoral votes. Final score: Kerry 270, Bush 268
I am all for the mutli-party systerm. There's just one thing that has to happen first: ballots have to allow for voting for more than person. Let's say I was voting out of a list of 4 candidates. I'd put down my first preferance, then my second and then my third. The person who gets least first votes will be knocked out and then whoever voted for him/her will get their second priority cast. And so on and so forth. This is like a runnoff rolled into
here's a better questoin: did Bush cheat in the second debate? There was something square between his sholderblades! could his campaigners have been sending him messages on a radio reciever. Honestly, I don't think that either candidate cheated. But even if you think that one of them did, there is no reason not to think the other one didn't. Even if they did, so what? What really matters to me is what they will do, not if someone tells them how to
Honestly, whether abortion is wrong or not is a matter of choice. I am personally against it but would never think of making someone else agree with me. I think everyone agrees that murder is wrong, they just don't agree that abortion is murder. I respect that. As long as they are a moral person, their morals don't have to be like mine. They truly don't believe that they are hurting someone and that makes it okay.
After having seen Kerry in action, I am throughly convinced that he is a major asshole. I am also convinced, however, that Bush is a danger to this country and everything it stands for. I would rather have a jerk as the president than suffer political chaos and the persecution of minorities. I think these three websites cover it pretty well: www.johnkerryisadouchebagbutimvotingforhimanyway.com www.twofacesofbush.com www.bushin30sec
I didn't hear Bush talking about invading Iran once, did you? I certainly hope he wouldn't. Iran's military is about three times the size of Iraq's and is much more organized. Iran is 2.5 times the size of Irzq, making insurgencies impecibly hard to control, especially considering that they would take place all over Iran but have only taken place in the Sunni triangle in Iraq. You have to remember that the Irani government enjoys much greater suppo
oligarchy314, you are more full of crap than is Blogic. In response to the question, Bush basically said "I have made mistakes," not naming anything in particular. That was clearly a way to avoid the question because he knew that naming any mistake would cost him political support. And yet he says the political tides don't influence his position and Kerry is a flip-flopper. He clearly isn't immune to political pressures.
Let's not fight guys. Let's be friends and go to http://www.twofacesofbush.com/
If you were listening carefully, Kerry told you that his plan is to speed up the training of Iraqi police and increase international participation in order to begin withdrawing troops, if the situation allows, six months from now. As for calling troops "kids," I don't like it that much, but it was an innocent remark. I don't think he was being patronizing.
i like getting my tax money back as much as the next guy, but this is somewhere where what we want conflicts with reality. If you'll remember the times when we built a strong economy on credit, without fail, there was an economic crisis. After the "Roaring Twenties" with their great spending and the attempted "trickle down" affect, we built so much off of credit that we ended up in a net debt after the crash of 1929. I want my money too, but we have to
