No, it's not! It's not about religion but all about relationship.
Sorry, you're wrong again Sir. Last time I checked Christianity IS a religion.

It's hilarious that after putting the dumbest, most unqualified president in American history in office twice, the same people are whining about the "inexperience" and "ruinous possibilities" of our new president. You guys should be comedians, not messageboard pundits.

The one thing that all the "history buffs" talking about how horribly high taxes are keep missing is the fact that in 1916 our country didn't have the infrastructure that we have built since then. We wouldn't even be able to maintain interstate highways adequately with a flat tax rate of 1% on purchases over $1000.00, let alone our bloated military budget. In 1916 little kids were working in factories all over the USA and not going to school. By instituting humane labor laws we took k

We seem to hear a lot about the rights of the unborn and the tragedy of abortion. However, at the same time there exists an abominable rate of abuse for children in foster care. And at the same time abandoned American children languish in state custody and at orphanages. If anyone beleives in the "culture of life" arguments, where are those who are fighting to save the born?

Of course there are a few anarchists in our ranks It's just very funny how a politic brought to the fore by the extreme left can end up as the mirror image of itself down the road. Corruption and mismanagement is not exclusive to either party. Members of both parties have been found guilty countless times. It is interesting though that someone who steals millions "politely" (as in white collar crime) would only get nine years. While someone else who has a weapon (blue collar crime) but doesn't even steal $9,000 and nobody is harmed physically is guaranteed a lot more time than that. One law for them....

They can NOT op-out. They are only allowed to take a very small percentage to put into privatized accounts. No more than 4%. Even the most basic math will show that if a system is failing becasue lack of revenue to keep it afloat allowing any additional funds to be removed will ensure it fails. <br

The administration is currently preparing another round of pushing for (at least partially) privatized Social Security accounts. That being the case, what is on the minds of Political Machine bloggers? The last plan unveiled called for directing funds of those who wish to participate into private accounts invested in the stock market, much like a government controlled 401K plan. A majority of the analysis performed by economists showe

you are just another brick in the liberal wall. Is it partisan to point out that there are failures on both sides of the aisle? Mr. Mod, you pointed out religious intolerance of one side. I brought attention to the other. There is something far more simple here, which is that neither political

The American public didn't know what was going on in the Nazi concentration camps but the administration did. Government documents released in the mid-90's showed that ships carrying European Jews fleeing the holocaust arrived on American shores seeking asylum and were denied. Presumably thos

We're supposed to tolerate every race, culture and sexual deviancy. But we're not supposed to tolerate the religious faiths of others? Come again, Mr. Freedom? To be fair and balanced (haha) what about all of those on the right that were calling for the heads of Muslims following 9/11? What ab

Being on the Political Machine I thought it was funny when the original post asked for this to be a practical discussion, but held my laughs until reaching the end where it has become nothing more than sniping. On the question of whether Gitmo should be shut down: yes, it should. If you care about our troops you have to recognize that Gitmo has become more of an asset to Iraqi insurgent/terrorist recruiting than it serves as a benefit to Ameri

What do you like giving money to the government? Personally, I don't mind. Especially when I know that by paying taxes I can help my fellow citizens by vicariously supporting them intimes of need. How would many of our fellow citizens with disabilities survive without our comined contributions?

i.e. Socialism, well EngSoc worked in 1984, why won't it work now!!! Acutally that would be more in line with Jeffersonian (Thomas, you know the "founding father") politics. Which it's pretty safe to say is about as American as apple pie, or so the saying goes. When he and the rest of the earl
