Hey, hello gang!! [waving] Wow this place has changed! Hope I'm posting this in the right place... So many forum categories... and sub-categories. So, who's still around from way back when? :)

I believe this is just what you are looking for: HiBase Task Scheduler You can set your schedule to lauch on specific calendar dates. Just select "Calendar" in the task Mode dropdown menu, then click on all the dates you wan in the year. And Bingo!
There is also a very handy little freeware called SDSSL. It creates a hotspot in one of the corners of your screen to launch your default screensaver. http://sdisle.com/sdssl/index.html
Thanks for your answers. I'll stick to XP until my next PC in a couple of years. Took me about that long to upgrade from 98 to XP anyway. And hello Paul!
Hello everybody! I haven't posted in a long while, but i still come around and read regularely. Anyway, about the reason of my post. I bought my laptop last year, and could only affort a very basic laptop with an integrated chipset, no real videocard. Therefore, as far as Vista is concerned, I could only run the Home Basic version. So, is it worth the upgrade? Or should I stick with XP until I buy a new computer in 2 or 3 years? From what I've read so far, the upgrade doesn't se
They still sell lots of laptops with no videocard (just a chipset). My 6 months old laptop is one of them. And I imagine, since they are the affortable kinds, that they aren't about to stop making them. I wonder what's Microsoft's plans for these...
Hum, I actually like the look, and the User Interface actually seem easier to use. But I must admit I prefer the black "skin" shown in thomassen's link.
OK, in 16 bits, checkboxes are back. Except now I have other display problems, as expected in 16 bits. Seems I have the latest drivers for my SiS gfx adapter though.
Just bought a new (cheap) laptop and I'm having the exact same problem as Moletai. Checkboxes seem unchecked, and clicking them seems to have no effect. WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report: STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+ WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC. I sure will follow it this year! I'm a Montreal fan, but our chances haven't budged a bit. The teams that gained a lot recently are the Penguins, the Flyers and the Blackhawks. The biggest loser: Tampa Bay. Without their star goalie, they don't stand much chance.
The patent isn't about the menu, but about podcasting. More specifically about "an application to generate playlists for a library collection of media items": link .
Yes, I've had that too, and also shortly after I installed DX 3. Not sure if it's related or not. But anyway, it's an error with the Windows script engine. To fix, do the following: You need to reregister Jscript.dll and Vbscript.dll 1. Click Start, and then click Run. 2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK. 3. Click OK. 4. Click Start, and then click Run. 5. In the Open box, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then click OK.
You answered "yes" to 74 of 100 questions, making you 26.0% sexually pure (74.0% sexually corrupt); that is, you are 26.0% pure in the sex domain. Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 39%, based on a comparison of your test results with 879613 other submissions for this test.
For a company that always wants to have things simpler, I don't understand why they are trying to make it actually harder. Why two buttons hidden under an apparent single button? Why not just simply put two buttons? And why two side buttons have to be "squeezed" instead of just one button clicked? How is all this supposed to be easier? I just don't get this company. I guess it's all about being different even if it doesn't make sense.
Dracil, just think about it two seconds. It helps sometimes. Imagine we live in your world. There is no copyright. I am a well known musician and I've released a number of very popular albums, while you are just an unknown musician. A Nobody. You put all your songs on the Internet for free download, cause your rent is free anyway and somehow your body doesn't need food. I happen to download your songs and I love it. So I take them, rerecord them as my own, hire marketing firms, send it to r
Dracil, I'm sorry, but your arguments have no grounds. To know what would happen without copyright, we just need to rewind in time a couple of hundred years: companies selling what wasn't theirs. Artists claiming to be the creator of what wasn't theirs (a lot of master painters and sculptors work wasn't really their but their pupils'), etc. There is a reason why copyright was established and it's not so companies could steal from people, but the exact opposite: so companies could NOT steal from
A few years ago I made a Montreal Canadiens and a Toronto Maple Leafs skin for Windowblinds. I emailed the NHL for permission and got an answer from their legal department. A long email, but in short it said that I had to pay big money to use their logo. Whether I was distributinh my skins for free or selling them was irrelevent. So the official NHL answer to your request is NO.
I don't know about FUD but the article is indeed misleading. At least its title is. And I am sure that 47songs isn't trolling either, maybe she just got mislead by the title. In truth the title has nothing to do with the rest of the article. Actually, there are many wrong things about the title and its subtitle. First, it warns about a virus outbreak, when later in the article it says that it will do very little damage. And second it says it will affect Vista when it finally ships, when in reali
Many people don't like being tied to a vendor for life once we buy their product. Exactly. What if Microsoft stops supporting XP and authenticating it a couple of years from now? What if I wanted to reformat my old computer then and reinstall XP, say 5 years, or 10 year, or even 20 years from now? It is unlikely XP will validate or authenticate
I've been waiting for IE to support transparent PNG's for a good 3 years now so I can at last drop the obsolete and ugly 8 bits GIF format at last. Yes, it is a big deal. Much bigger than the addition of tabs or popup blocking.
Hum, sorry, but Yahoo! doesn't seem tha interested in cross-plateform either. Past aquisitions weren't cross-plateform and they haven't updated Yahoo Chat for Mac in two years. I all fairness Yahoo! seems to actually be losing interest into the Mac plateform. And Limbo, you're talking about the development environment of Desktop X as compared to the development environment of what other application? As far as I know, other widgets programs do NOT have an authoring environement. Just hand s
Hum, every past future version of Windows always had a codename (Whistler, Memphis, Cairo, Chicago, etc.), which was never used for the final product name (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows 95). I don't get why people say "I like Longhorn better"; nobody expected Longhorn to be the real name used. Having said that, I like Vista.
Furthermore, I wonder what a programmer would think if his boss told him he wasn't going to get paid because he didn't do any work. "Your work doesn't really exist, it's all virtual. Therefore you won't get paid."
Re #3: Of all the software available for Windows, how much of it is any good? There are tons of applications that are really really good for Linux. Of course a lot of it is utter crap, like most of Windows applications. But it's true that the big three (as I call them) have no good equivalent for Linux: Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. Other than these, I can have as much fun running Linux, if not more. Linux has features that I love that are lacking in Windows and vice-versa, I use
My take on this is probably similar to that of Jafo. I think any animal is probably okay to eat if the animals are farmed and not mistreated. We all need to eat to survive, and there's nothing wrong with eating something that tastes good. So if one enjoys cat meat, dog meat, horse meat or giraffe meat, or whatever meat, fine. But I think these animals should be farmed and raised for that sole purpose. The conditions in which they (the animals) are raised and killed must also be as humane as poss
