I think that referred to troops in other parts of the world and here--not Iraq or Afghanistan. No, that is all the Army. Since 83% of my State has either been deloyed or are presently deployed. I would have to say that would include more that have, then h

He wants to get back to the good old days when you lobbed a few million dollar missiles at an empty training camp and sent an investigations team in to wonder why 200 Americans just got bombed and/or murdered. That's My Two Cents

Sick satire and meaningless to a 76 year old ex-marine. Thanks for your service. I'm just glad that you know the true meaning to service. Some people like to talk it up, but are so unwilling to do their service if required. <TABLE cellpadding=8

Now if your basing your vote on wanting a draft, then Vote for Kerry. Unmitigated gall to even suggest that. Why? Think about it one moment please. The facts add up that it is more likely that a draft will be instituted under Kerry then under Bush. 1. Kerry has never said that he would no

I concur and he personally knows this as well, being an attorney he is working for that courtroom appeal I suppose heh. Ya, I think your right. Good point. It don't matter it he can deliver, just that he can make the other person look guilty.

If I were Kerry I would simply hammer home the deficit for the domestic agenda. That's what I thought before last night too. But after doing quick calculation in my own head, Kerry just wants to stop the 89 billion dollar tax cut to the rich and cut off loopholes. That 89 billion comes no where near t

If I was a Democrat: Say that my candidate is for one side of an issue in one speech and then against it in the next. That makes sure you can get voters on both sides of an issue to vote for you. If I was a Republican: Point out the fact that a candidate can't be on both sides of an issue. But since I'm an Moderate Independent: cry into my d

Actually GX What is not reported here much is that Germany has a large number of troops there. I still have a few German friends, from when I lived in Germany, that are bewildered that the US news media does not point this out. My friends feel the main reason for them not sending troops now, is because they are helping us more in Afghanistan. Why should they remove troops from a place

I would like to take a moment to congratulate Afghanistan for holding their first elections. They can now be called a Democratic country. Bravo to you Afghanistan. No major acts of violets was even committed. Lets give them three cheers people” HOORAY, HOORAY, HOORAY <img src="../images/s

Riddle me this Steve: Which guy during the debate said that there will be no Draft while they are President and while which avoided the answer? One hint: The man who is implying that there will be one, is the same one that is avoiding the answer. Now if your basing your vote on wanting a draft, then Vote for Kerry. But if you are just wanting to try and scare some weak knead draft dodgers that gets their only news from Moveon.org,

The most interesting thing about the debate was the fact that the moderator Mr. Gibson had to ask twice about how they were going to cut the deficit Once after Mr. O’Brien’s about spending: GIBSON: I both — I heard you both say — I have heard you both say during the campaign, I just heard you say it, that you're going to cut the deficit by a half in four years. But I didn't hear one thing in the last three and a half minutes that woul

No Suprise here. Look at what Clinton and Gore got away with China. They even wanted to make China Strategic Allies. What make anybody think that Kerry is not going to do the same path, but with other countries. He still refuses to state what countries have contacted him offering him support if he become President. The Saudis (Bush's Allies) have scheduled thei

I do agree when it comes to reservist units that poor follow up training does happen. (My first year in service was a reservist). They are some times called stocking stuffers, during mobilizations. But I have been dealing with National Guardsmen as of late. I would have to say over 50% of the National Guard force are prior military. Allot depends on the unit and State that they are in. The Nevada Armored Cav. Bn. is the reserve Bn. to the

Texas Wahine, dharmagrl, drmiler, and Grim Xiozan Sorry, for not replying since lunch time. Life has over taken me for the next two days. I also know of the hard conditions that a young soldier faces. I myself do not see how a E-3 and below can effectively raise a family. Yet alone having them forced in by a draft. My first paychecks was only $351.00. The Military pay has increased more in the last four years then any other time

She's talking to the same kind of people I'm talking to. People who are walking the walk, and are serving their country, not just those who sit around and talk. People are getting out left and right, basically because they're getting treated like shit. Underpaid, overdeployed, overworked, undertrained....the benefits aren't wha

I had drinks a couple of weeks ago with two guys training for the Special Forces. They were voting Bush and I asked why. The quieter, more thoughtful one told me "we were ordered to." I laughed, and he said, "no, really, we were." Apparently when they were filling out their forms for absentee ballots, they were told that they co

Echoing previous Military Times polls and other research, the survey found a group with a close affinity for the Republican Party. About 60 percent of those surveyed identified themselves as Republicans, while 13 percent consider themselves Democrats and 20 percent independents. This is correct, I misquoted the Star as say

Daiwa,. A good start to a plan for securing Iraq would have been--as Shinseki argued for and Bremer now admits--putting more troops on the ground to prevent the looting and to provide security.
