Gideon, abortion is a civil rights issue. Here, the definition of abortion: (from Dictionary.com) Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival. Any of various procedures that result in such termination and expulsion. Also called induced abortion. Now, you see it is the 'termination' of a pregnancy...okay... So, what does this have to do with civil rights? Everything.

First of all, that is NO REASON at all to be a Republican/Democrat in current times. The Democrats and Republicans both changed their platforms around the 80s. Why the 80s you ask? It seems that Ronald Reagan was the birth of this 'right-wing conspiracy', and others like Tom Daschle, Howard Dean, and others started this left-wing stuff. Zell Miller is classified as a 'southern Democrat'. He is into some of the right-wing Republicans. But, most N
I have not either. I have looked for all of this. Just don't mess with the game. Don't change stuff in the Data folder. Just play the game. And if you have any problems if you aren't, then you're in trouble.
Okay, beating Reagan was the hardest thing to think possibly. I need help beating this guy. I lost. I won only Calfiornia, Texas, and Florida and it was surprising I won MA and Oregon. They didn't really help me win. I only got about 100-some electoral votes, and received all the others. First of all, his home state is Tampico, Illinois and they say he is from California. I have to work extra hard to get California, and by the time I do, he has all
But, you can easily change your opinion. In California, I was running ads against my opponent saying he favored a strong military. This helped me win California---meanwhile, I was lucky enough to get a war hero, and I put him in Virginia where I cruised to victory. It just matters. Whatever is important. Sometimes---very rarely---the newspaper or media might get mean and say that your flip-flopping (I'm not really sure actually), but it doesn't really
Well, I recently beat Mr. Nixon, and he was hard as a rock. Wouldn't budge...was very competitive in the advertisment field. Actually, in this campaign advertisements helped me out a great deal. Once I pulled out an advertisement saying that my opponent opposed freedom of speech Washington State, Oregon, PA, NJ, and Maryland would all turn Democratic...but he would come back at me. It was a good race, and I ended up winning Florida even after what poll
Yes, DF...very good idea. I had no clue either. I thought that your stamina was re-set every single day. I always make sure I use all my stamina (If I have 1 left, I will fly to the state I plan to focus on next)...
Click on 'Polls' at the top. Then, something will come up showing you three-digit numbers (hopefully three digit...if you are losing terribly: 1, or 2 digits is possible). They will be big. These will be your electoral votes. Sometimes, the polls aren't exactly correct. You might actually be leading when the polls are saying that you aren't. Okay...I have successfully beaten Ulysses S. Grant. The one thing that your 'tips' and 'strategy' is missing is the states you should win & also the endorsements. The U.S. Chamber of Business proves to be a very strong endorsement when you are playing against somebody like Taft or Grant. I am going to play against Richard Nixon now, and if you have any tips, they would be greatly appreciated....
Okay...I will try that...
First of all, I love politics. I found it, because I knew I wasn't going to get a certain b-day gift. Despite all the complaints, I decided I was going to take the risk and buy it. It worked fine without the v.1.01 thing. I think people are messing with the game. I messed with the game, and my computer kept on repeatedly crashing....I don't think you should be changing the data...just playing the game. I downloaded candidate Howard Dean, and then I dec
Just tried it again...didn't work. I was leading up to week 30 until he made a comeback. I only did the endorsements you directed me to. They did nothing. The Environmentalists only increased polls in Oregon in which I didn't really care for. I upgraded all of my headquarters and actually had a lot more money ($10.3 million). I was really doing good in the first 30 weeks. He got every single endorsement except the Environmentalists & World one. He took
Nope. I was focusing too much on Cali, N.Y., Texas, and Florida as you've told me to. He had leads almost 15-30% more than I had, and ended up winning. I tied with him in MA during the last week of campaigning, and he ended up winning it anyway. It was hard to get Iowa/Michigan because he had big leads and since Grant was from Ohio, he took most of the surronding states even by not laying a hand on them. It happens with me when I'm playing Bill Cli
Is that something like a cheat code????
But the question is: what is the major endorsements??? Is the U.S. Chamber of Business or Environment more important. When Grant gets the Chamber of Business, he gets all the states behind him, while I just increase the leads in which I have. When playing Arnold, I received all of the endorsements, and all the states were behind me by election night...should this happen with Grant as well?? I lost from your strategy...and I'm afraid I lost from thi
I think it is automatic...but, hey what do I know....
Sorry for posting two times!!!!
I have a few ideas myself to share with the group...I'm not sure if it has been posted before, though. 1) More Newspaper News: Gossip, What's happening in the world, etc.- It seems that the newspaper only comes up when you attack the other candidate with a radio, tv ad or something like if your spin doctor withdraws from your campaign, etc. The newspaper should have some other articles as well (or headlines). That should include gossip

Wow, that is a lot to do...I will try it....but Grant (Ulysses S.) keeps on getting all the endorsements by the time I've done all this stuff. Should I do it differently. Spend the first few weeks getting the endorsements...then spend 23 weeks building 3-level campaign Hdqt??? ---Deaniac
I was leading in all the big states except for Michigan and Ohio (because Ulysses S. Grant is from that area). I had great leads in California, New York, Texas, Florida, and PA. But, he was leading every single other state on the board because I was focusing too heavily on the big states. You directed me to do this. The Union, Environment, and the World one did squat for me....all it did was raise my lead by 1 point in Texas. Meanwhile, Grant got the C
Hasn't worked at all for me...he ends up winning 45 out of the 50 states..come on, that is crazy....new strategy...
It always seems that when I play with people like Taft and Ford (as well as Grant)...beating them is hard without a U.S. Chamber of Business. I understand why it is so important to Taft (being in that chamber as well), but why Grant and Ford. Why is it so powerful??? Otherwise, I will try your strategy. Thanks for the tips. BTW: How do you unlock Democratic Candidates BTW: I see what you meant for 'tips' in my Grant forum...thanks...</
Huh? What tips.... ---Deaniac
I have beat Arnold S. and William Taft with your help...I need it again. Grant is the hardest to beat ever. He has two endorsements, and has 40 out of the 50 states going for him. I had considerable leads in a lot of states, and I was leading him until week 21 or 31 or something like that. How do I go about doing this? And, why doesn't Grant have to fund-raise????? Does this involve political capital??? BTW: how do I unlock the Democratic cand
