You can use .TGA graphic files. Some elements, like taskbar bg, scrollbar bg, titlebar buttons and window borders don't support, but just about every other bit does. It'll allow you to acheive the effect you're after.

"#3 by Skinner Styl skinner - 10/20/2004 5:09:35 AM And hippy, you're an admin/wizop.... any idea why I was demoted... bit wierd? " No idea. I have to admit I still can't tell the differences between all the user levels. There was no mention on the admin board of a demotion, which is what usually happens when that occurs to someone.
"WHEN I SENDED TREETOG ANOTHER EMAIL ABOUT THE SUBJECT HE DIDN'T FIND IT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ANSWER IT In that case, I will just decide on my own. " That shows a lack of judgment and some disrespect. You assume Treetog even got the mail. Perhaps something happened along the way, or he was having mail server issues at some point. Just assuming he ignored you, and then publicaly saying that is a slap in the face for Renato. Out of all the people I've ever comunicated with in this scene, h
That runs the risk of the torrent files appearing on other sites though, which, in a round about way, ends up being illegal distribution of the files themselves.
It uses Stardock's DirectSkin as it's themeing engine, so you should be able to drop a Windowblinds theme in and have it work.
The site you want is : Http://www.skinplant.com
I'd check the 'spyware downloads'........
That's generally how a contest works. The deadline for the end is set. If you plan on uploading something to try and get some cash, then you need to work to get the skin up in time.
"what's you're favorite or most creative skin name that you've seen used that doesn't include one of those trendy words? " Sex Pistons, by Treetog. Still cracks me up to this day. I love it.
A good system as an example is the way Deviantart do it. If you submit a subscriber resource, be it skin, art, poem, etc, and it's good enough to make the cut, you're rewarded with a free year's subscription, plus 10% of the proceeds of all new subscriptions of the first month your subscriber piece goes up.
"Besides, if people like Aero skins or Mac skins or whatever, what's wrong with that?" Nothing wrong with liking that stuff. But them receiving money for using graphics originally created by whomever at Apple, for example, is wrong.
Be less vague = Receive more help.
It's a good idea to give something back to the skinners in that way. Problem is, people know the way to have the downloads rolling in, is to do ports of certain popular skins, or to do their take on the latest fad, wether it be OSX, Aero, etc etc. While the authors may have spent a bit of time putting in work actually building the skin, I think being rewarded when the graphics work belong to someone else is wrong. It could lead to a decline in original work, even more than than has happen
The Beatnik and Kewlpad sections could be nixed. They're not really popular anymore, and Kewlpad isn't even in development these days.
I use XP. Occasionally run Mandrake or Fedora, and have a G3 here that I'm installing OSX Panther on soon.
Also known as 'the latest fad'...
I lost my connection once. I used the time to go outside. I'm so glad I have my connection back.
I'm afraid I haven't tried them both together, don't use IconX here. If it's a known OB issue, it might be corrected for Right-Click possibly.
It uses ObjectBar menu skins, plus it'll have an option to import the menu graphics from the current Windowblinds skin too, if the user has it running.
Doesn't do it here, and it's never came up before. Sounds like a random glitch. If you have Skinstudio, open the skin and in the personailty section, check that the textback image right margin says '13'.
For now manually, but when the new version of the site is released next month, there's a watch option which will do this.
It's being debated by Stardock as to wether or not it should be added, as there may be issues with perfomance. There has been experimental builds using it, that are unreleased though. A lot of people have commented on how much they'd love to have TGA borders, so hopefully it'll be something that will be implimented in the near future.
It all looks normal. Are you using some program that puts your Start Menu programs list onto the desktop by right-clicking?
